Royal fans were delighted to see Prince Louis wear the same sailor suit that his father, Prince William, did in 1985. The four year old royal made his Trooping the Colour carriage debut on Thursday ahead of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, which marks her 70 years on the throne.
But it was the youngster's outfit which had people talking – it appeared to be the exact same suit that his dad wore to Trooping at age two, the same year Louis' uncle, Prince Harry, made his own Trooping the Colour debut. And what's great is it isn't even the first time Prince William has dressed one of his children in archival clothing.
In 2015, a very young Prince George, eight, sported a baby blue romper on his Trooping debut on the Buckingham Palace balcony, 31 years after his dad had worn the same outfit for the same occasion. And it's not just the boys who get the royal hand-me-downs – Princess Charlotte, seven, treated fans in Canada in the same blue jumper that had previously been worn by her brother Prince George. What made the re-wear even sweeter was the fact it was the same jumper worn by Prince George when he met his baby sister for the first time in 2015.
On Thursday, the three siblings all made their carriage ride debut at Trooping the Colour, the annual public celebration of Queen Elizabeth's second birthday. The children rode alongside their mum, Kate, and the Duchess of Cornwall, Camilla. Kate and Camilla both opted for re-wears too with the Duchess of Cambridge opting for a white dress which she had originally worn, designed by
