As every parent knows, finding time to even do some simple self care like brushing teeth is challenge enough. Now Prince Harry has talked about how he understands the time squeeze, but he prioritises his mental health in the small window of time available to him when his youngest Lilibet is napping and Archie has gone to school.
He revealed his commitment to a morning routine that includes seeking "white space".Talking to tennis star Serena Williams in a discussion about mental fitness, he said: "Even if you do have 15 minutes slate of white space, I now put in about half an hour or 45 minutes in the morning when I'm like 'okay, one of the kids has gone to school, the other one is taking a nap' there's a break in our programme." Harry said: "I know that I need to meditate every single day." Get exclusive celebrity stories and fabulous photoshoots straight to your inbox with OK!'s daily newsletter. He went on to allude to the pressures of his role in the public eye, which have not lessened since his move to California with wife Meghan: "Once you have to show up for other people, the self-care is the first thing to drop away." Harry has been an advocate for mental health for many years, such as the Heads Together mental health campaign that was set up with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. But since stepping away from the Royal family, this has taken a more personal turn.
Harry has given details about his own mental well-being, stating: "It wouldn't have been fair of us to ask people to put themselves out there, to be vulnerable, to share their story, if we weren't willing to do the same," as he launched his soul-bearing series on mental health The Me You Can't See on Netflix.
