Prince Harry's possible removal as a Counsellor of State could be the "final nail in the coffin", a source has claimed. By law, the Counsellors of State include the Sovereign's spouse and the next four people in the line of succession who are over the age of 21. At the moment, Prince Harry, 37, his brother Prince William, 39, their father Prince Charles, 73, and his brother Prince Andrew, 61, are the four people who form the Counsellors of State.Two or more of the Counsellors of State are appointed by Letter Patent to act in Her Majesty's place in the event that she is unable to undertake official duties on a temporary basis due to illness or absence abroad.

Now, after talk that he could be removed, a source has claimed there would be "no going back" if Prince Harry no longer holds the role of Counsellor of State.
