Prince Andrew and his ex wife could lose the home they share together in Windsor as the new King puts his mark on the Royal Family. The Duke of York and Sarah Ferguson are reportedly expecting to have to pack their bags and leave the 31-bedroom Royal Lodge they live in that is owned by the Crown Estate. Following the death of the Queen, it is thought to be only a matter of time that Andrew’s older brother King Charles goes forward with the royal reshuffle he previously hinted at.The Crown's abundance of property, which spans over 500,000 acres of land across the UK, is likely to fall under the King's impending review but Andrew could be set to get a lot of money if he is “kicked out”.
If his undisclosed 100-year lease on the Queen Mother's former home, Royal Lodge, is cut short, Andrew may be able to claim up to £7million in compensation. An insider told The Sun that the Duke who was thought to be "under the protection of the Queen" would not be forced to leave Royal Lodge in the near future because it would "seem callous to throw them out so soon after she died".
"But if he's doing no duties and rattling around a £30million mansion during the cost-of-living crisis, then it's a terrible look," the source added. That’s not the only change that the Duke of York could face, as King Charles is apparently set to make changes to the law preventing non-working royals being Counsellors of State.
Being a Counsellor of State means that Andrew can step in for the monarch and temporarily perform duties on his behalf if he is unable to "due to illness or absence abroad". Andrew, along with Prince Harry, Prince William and Charles, held the position before Her Majesty passed away on 8 September.

Following Queen Elizabeth II's death in September, Sarah Ferguson and her ex-husband Prince Andrew took in Her Majesty's beloved pet corgis, Sandy and Muick. Sarah, 62, and Andrew, also 62, live together at Royal Lodge in Windsor along with their five Norfolk terriers, and it seems the pair's two new pets have settled in nicely. Speaking at the Henley Literary Festival, Fergie shared an update about the two dogs and said it was a "big honour" to have taken the Queen's corgis in, The Telegraph reports.
A woman who pretended to be Prince Andrew's fiancée was able to trick her way past security because staff were too "terrified" to check with the royal, it has been claimed. The Spanish female in her 40s arrived at the security gate of Royal Lodge in Windsor last April, claiming she was Irene Windsor and was there to have dinner with her fiancé, the Duke of York, and was allowed in with no identification or checks made.
King Charles III could be changing royal titles of a few family members now that he is at the helm of the monarchy following the death of Queen Elizabeth II last month at the age of 96. Her Majesty, born Elizabeth Alexandra Mary, was the longest-reigning monarch in British history having served the United Kingdom and 14 other commonwealth countries for 70 years until she died on Sept.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are said to be concerned that they are being iced out of the British royal family. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were demoted to the bottom of the official royal website alongside the disgraced Prince Andrew. Royal biographer Phil Dampier confirmed to Fox News Digital previous comments he made about the seemingly deliberate move, which has been perceived as a snub.
An “explosive claim” made against Prince Andrew is explored in a new documentary.
, is here. The 90-minute film premieres Oct.
It doesn’t look like Prince Andrew will be making a return to the monarchy anytime soon…
Prince Harry's military uniform was noticeably different from his brother's, Prince William, and uncle's, Prince Andrew, as they each stood vigil over Queen Elizabeth II's coffin Saturday at Westminster Hall ahead of her funeral on Monday. The "ER" initials were positioned on the shoulder of Prince William's uniform, and were also seen on Prince Andrew's military regalia during another senior royal vigil, which stands for "Elizabeth Regina" in Latin.
Setting a royal precedent! Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson’s marriage may not have worked out, but the pair still consider their life with daughters Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie to be their happily ever after.
A close bond. Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson‘s marriage — and subsequent split — has become a major topic of discussion in British monarchy history through the years.
Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York was seen Friday with Prince Andrew as the pair viewed floral tributes left in honor of Queen Elizabeth II. The pair's outing at Windsor Castle marked the first time Ferguson, known fondly as Fergie, has been seen with the royal family since the death of Queen Elizabeth II. Ferguson dressed in all black as she viewed the tributes.
Queen Elizabeth II's planned funeral. The body of the late British monarch is currently lying-in-state at Westminster Hall as members of the public are queuing up for hours for a chance to see Her Majesty's coffin before Monday's funeral. But two dramatic instances have taken place amid the events surrounding the queen's death.
Prince Andrew will be taking on a key role during his late mum Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II's funeral on Monday 19 September. The Duke of York, 62, will once again march behind the late sovereign's coffin next week, a duty he upheld on Wednesday 14 September when the casket was moved from Buckingham Palace's Bow room to Westminster Hall – where she is currently lying-in-state to ensure the public have the opportunity to pay their respects. He's also been allowed to keep a prominent role within the Royal Family since his brother, 73, ascended to the throne last week.
Prince Andrew has been allowed to keep a key role in the Royal Family after his older brother Charles recently became King. The Duke of York, 62, was a Counsellor of State during Queen Elizabeth II's reign and he will be keeping the significant role under King Charles' reign.
As the Queen’s coffin made its way to Westminster Hall from Buckingham Palace with the Royal Family in tow, many noticed that Prince Harry and Prince Andrew failed to salute during the late monarch's coffin procession. It’s since come to light that the two royals were reportedly forbidden from saluting, and were told to bow their heads to show their respect instead. This comes because Harry and Andrew were not in military uniform, unlike the likes of Princess Anne, Prince William and King Charles III.The pair wore morning suits for the sad affair rather than uniform as they are no longer working royals. In addition to this, Prince Andrew was stripped of his military titles last year but retained his rank as a Vice Admira.
