A popular Edinburgh restaurant has unveiled its Christmas menu, and it is bringing a "touch of nostalgia" to its festive dining experience.
Starting December 15, Superico Restaurant in the capital's New Town will be reviving seasonal classics for its Christmas lunch and dinner menu, which can be pre-booked for groups of four people or more.
The restaurant's Christmas menu has been curated by head chef Calum Ralston. He took inspiration from his childhood memories of Christmas feasts at home with his family.
Superico Restaurant's Christmas Set Menu costs £28.95 per person for lunch and £34.95 per person for dinner. Among the dishes featured are chicken liver parfait, prawn cocktail salad; 500g chateaubriand for two people, seasonal crumble and vanilla custard, and chocolate roulade with cherry ice-cream.
Those interested in the restaurant's Christmas menu can pre-book for private groups of up to 22 people, as well as smaller parties and couples. In addition, small plates, Champagne, wine, and cocktails can be enjoyed at the restaurant’s bar, which has views directly into the open working kitchen.
Speaking about the new menu, Ralston stated: “We’re really excited to be adding a touch of nostalgia and comfort food to our festive dining experience in Edinburgh’s New Town this Christmas and New Year.
“From prawn cocktail, to seasonal crumble and chocolate roulade, there’s something special on the menu to bring back so many food memories for all our guests. Our main courses are also served like a family Christmas dinner, with sides in the middle of the table for everyone to share.
“The festive period is the most popular time of year for dining out with friends and family, so we can’t wait to share our new nostalgic Christmas menu

are everywhere right now, but Prime Video's latest for the genre, Something From Tiffany's, has something I've never seen before: When Ethan (Kendrick Sampson) wishes Rachel (Zoey Deutch) a “Merry Christmas,” she responds: “I'm Jewish, by the way!” Without skipping a beat, Ethan immediately wishes her a Happy Hanukkah. Rachel smiles and eventually walks away, but not before shouting out a cheerful goodbye. It's a line that I've said (and thought about saying more) during every holiday season when someone inevitably wishes me, a Jew, Merry Christmas.
