Police have seized 17 dogs following a brutal dog attack on a six-year-old girl in Trafford on Sunday.
Emergency services were called to Ackers Lane in Carrington, Trafford at around 2.40pm to a report of a child who had suffered injuries caused by dogs.
Horrified neighbours said they looked on as another young girl and a man fought the dogs off the child, who was then carried off unconscious by a woman believed to be her mother. She is now understood to be in a stable condition in hospital.
Officers seized four dogs and nine puppies on Sunday, and say they have recovered a further four dogs today. As part of the investigation, a van has also been found in south Manchester and is being examined.

Three people have been arrested on suspicion of owning a dangerous dog. They have all been released on bail.
In video footage seen by The Mirror, brave pedestrians can be seen fighting off the pack of dogs, before the girl is brought to safety. Blood can be seen on the floor after the dogs dispersed.
One man, who asked not to be named, told the Mirror: "I have seen two big dogs on the street a lot, they are American Bullys. It's scary that this has happened here. She was just playing out and then this has happened to the poor little girl."
Detective Inspector Matthew Dixon, of GMP's Trafford district, said: "This is a fluid investigation and so far we have recovered 17 dogs and made three arrests, as well as a vehicle of interest.
"However, the investigation is very much ongoing and anyone with information should contact police quoting log 1612-26/03/23."
