Six teenagers who were arrested outside Trafford College for making threats with a 'firearm' have been released on bail, police have confirmed.
Armed police detained the young males after officers responded to reports of 'a group intimidating the public with what looked like a firearm' on Great Stone Road. Two cars were later stopped and those inside were detained, police said.
The arrests were carried out by armed police outside the Trafford College campus in Stretford. No-one was injured in the incident.

In an update issued this morning (Wednesday), a spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said the young males who were arrested have now been released on bail. The young males were aged between 17 and 18.
They were detained on suspicion of possessing a firearm or imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence, the spokesperson added. Police also confirmed that the firearm was believed to have been an imitation one.
There is no suggestion at this stage that the college was involved - the arrests were made outside. In a statement issued yesterday, police said: "We've arrested six young men near Trafford College after receiving a report of a group intimidating passing members of the public with what appeared to be a firearm on Great Stone Road.
"NPAS assisted specialist armed officers in tracking down two cars linked to the group and safely detained the occupants outside Trafford College. Thankfully no one was physically injured during the incident and enquiries have now begun."
