Police burst open a flat door to discover a woman bagging up cocaine in what officials described as an 'evidential paradise'. Courtney Larkin, 25, was caught in possession of huge amounts of the class A drug thought to be worth over £100,000, reports Manchester Evening News.
Manchester Crown Court heard that officers raided the Greater Manchester property to find the defendant weighing and cutting cocaine, which was to be placed into bags for street deals. When officials entered the 25-year-old was reportedly sitting on the floor surrounded by huge amounts of the substance in both rock and powder form.
Approximately 1.2kg of the lethal drug was seized from the flat and is valued to be worth approximately £123,800. Larkin was arrested and charged for possession with intent to supply crack cocaine.
Detectives say that Larkin had 'no choice' but to confess her involvement in the supply of drugs after the huge drugs bust on May 6 2022. She pleaded guilty to the offence at an earlier hearing and was sentenced at Manchester Crown yesterday.
For her crimes, Larkin was jailed for four years and eleven months. Detective Constable Rick McIvor, of GMP’s Challenger team in Tameside, said: "To bust open the door to find Larkin sat surrounded in crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia, and bagging it up to be sold to drug users was an evidential paradise.
"Despite her remaining silent throughout the interview, she ultimately had no choice but to admit to her involvement in the supply of drugs and face the consequences.
"I want to take this opportunity to encourage the local community to keep reporting drug related activity to police that will go towards seeing more results like this."
