Piers Morgan 'very proud' of lookalike brother who is long-serving Army officer

Piers Morgan has paid tribute to his lookalike brother today as he retired from the the army after almost four decades of service. The 57 year old joined his brother Jeremy at the Thiepval Memorial in northern France, which had been built to commemorate the thousands of missing British and South African serviceman who died in the Battle of the Somme in the First World War. Dressed in a sharp black suit and white shirt, the star posed beside his brother Jeremy who wore a full military uniform, while the pair reflected on the ‘outstanding’ career which led him to serve in numerous conflicts throughout the world.

In honour of the occasion, Piers wrote on Instagram: "Congrats to my brother Jeremy on his retirement from the British Army today after 37 years of service to his country including numerous war zones." Very proud of you Colonel.” The admiration and respect between the pair was also clearly mutual, with Jeremy previously having spoken highly of his brother, during an interview with The Times back in 2010.

According to the Colonel, they would “always pull together” even when they argued. He said: "Piers used to torment me and physically bully me when we were small. I remember him hitting me over the head repeatedly with a small, rubber yellow hammer.

"My mother couldn’t leave us alone. Later on, he’d bully me psychologically — niggle, niggle, niggle — until I got into a rage and beat him to a pulp. He fought like a girl, so he was easy to overcome." "But I admired Piers, and when the chips were down we’d always pull together.
