Piers Morgan is known to be outspoken on his views about Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle, however, he's done something of a U-turn after describing Harry and his brother Prince William's vigil reunion 'heart-rending'. The two brothers joined with their six cousins on Saturday evening to stand beside the coffin of their late grandmother the Queen in a silent vigil at Westminster Hall.
Prince Harry, 38, was given "special permission" by the Palace to wear his military uniform during the vigil, after he was stripped of his military titles when he left the royal family in 2020. He and a uniform-wearing Prince William, 40, joined their cousins Peter Phillips, Zara Tindall, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, Lady Louise Windsor, and James, Viscount Severn in the vigil.
Piers, 57, who hosts Talk TV and used to front GMB, shared a picture of the vigil to Twitter as he wrote: "Of all the many incredibly moving images in the past week, this one of the Queen’s grandchildren standing guard by her coffin, flanked by the silent, respectful British public, is the most heart-rending." Piers' comments about the grandchildren of the Queen come after he claimed Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's "truce" with William and Kate was "all for show". In a recent column, Pier's wrote: "Don’t be misled by the scenes of supposed hatchet-burying between William and his brother over the weekend," "That was a show of forced unity to wrestle media attention away from their rift to their grandmother in the run-up to her state funeral next Monday.
