Oldham -born actor, comedian and singer, real name Robert Harper, is best known for hosting ITV's The Cannon and Ball show for nine years with with his best friend Tommy Cannon.

Bobby Ball has died at the age of 76 after testing positive for Covid-19.The death of the funny man, one half of iconic duo Cannon & Ball, was confirmed by his manager.The actor and comedian had been taken to hospital when he started experiencing breathing problems and was later confirmed to have been suffering from coronavirus.A statement reads: "It is with great personal sadness that on behalf of Yvonne Ball, and the family, and Tommy Cannon, I announce that Bobby Ball passed away at Blackpool
