Scots actor David Tennant is returning as Doctor Who after a shock exit from Jodie Whittaker on Sunday night.

Doctor Who made a welcome return to TV screens in November, with three 60th anniversary specials and David Tennant returning in the lead role. David, who played the character from 2005 to 2010, came back as as the Fourteenth Doctor in the anniversary episodes, ahead of Ncuti Gatwa taking on the role at Christmas and becoming the Fifteenth Doctor.The new incarnation comes 60 years after William Hartnell starred as the Time Lord in the debut episode of Doctor Who in 1963. Numerous actors have taken on the role over the years, with Ncuti, 31, being the thirteenth star to do so.
