Thania Garcia The man accused of shooting rapper Takeoff was indicted for murder by a Harris County grand jury on May 25, according to the county’s District Attorney’s Office. Patrick Xavier Clark, 33, was arrested in Houston last December after police connected him to Takeoff’s (real name: Kirsnik Khari Ball) murder on Nov. 1. Takeoff was shot and killed at a bowling alley in downtown Houston where he and Quavo, his uncle and Migos bandmate, were playing dice at around 2:30 a.m. that night. Shortly after Clark was arrested, Sgt. Michael Burrow said Takeoff was an “innocent bystander” of the argument that led to his shooting death. Clark was later released on a $1 million bond in January.

On Monday, a jury in Florida closed its week-long deliberations when it found Dedrick Williams, Michael Boatwright, and Trayon Newsome guilty of first-degree murder and armed robbery, according to a report by the New York Times. Prosecutors did not seek the death penalty in the case and all three assailants face mandatory life sentences. At the time of his death, 20-year-old XXXTentacion — real name Jahseh Onfroy — was at the height of his controversial career. Surveillance footage shown in court revealed the rapper’s BMW had been blocked by an S.U.V. by two masked attackers on June 18, 2018, as he attempted to leave a motorcycle shop in Florida. Boatwright and Newsome were the gunmen, who were able to thieve $50,000 in cash from Onfroy, while Williams was said to be the getaway driver.

Thania Garcia Fyre Festival organizer Billy McFarland, the man behind the ill-famed, high-profile, fraudulent music festival, has been released from prison early.TMZ reported that the 30-year-old has been released but is not yet completely free, as he has been sitting in community confinement since March 30.It is unknown whether McFarland is in his personal home now or if he’s at a halfway house — an institute for people with criminal backgrounds to learn the skills needed to reintegrate into society.McFarland was expected to stay in prison through the end of August 2023 but his lawyers have been fighting for an early release since 2020. Thania Garcia The Prince Estate has and Sony Music have announced a deluxe release of “Prince and The Revolution: Live,” the legendary 1985 concert toward the end of the 100-date “Purple Rain” concert tour which was originally broadcast via satellite from the Carrier Dome in Syracuse, New York on March 30, 1985. The film was first released on VHS in the late ’80s and was out of print for decades before being re-released as part of the “Purple Rain” deluxe boxed set in 2017.Now, the completely remastered and digitally enhanced footage will be made available on vinyl for the first time along with CD and Blu-ray formats starting June 3, 2022.According to the announcement, the deluxe edition of “Prince and The Revolution: Live” has been “entirely enhanced and reconstructed,” with the original video source rescanned, restored and color-corrected with the original multitrack audio master reels remixed and remastered onto Blu-ray video with selectable stereo, 5.1 surround and Dolby Atmos sound.
