Australian soap Neighbours has been on our screens since 1985, and throughout that time, UK fans have become fixated with the lives of the Ramsay Street residents. After 37 years of Ramsey Street, Toadie and Melanie's marriage is the perfect way for the cast past and present to say goodbye as the pair wed in a ceremony presided over by another well-loved cast member, Susan Kennedy, played by Jackie Woodburn, 66.

Neighbours star Jackie Woodburne fought back tears as she discussed the fate of the Australian soap opera, following reports it could be facing the axe. Jackie, who has played Susanne Kennedy for 27 years, appeared on Australian talkshow The Project on Monday 7 February to share her reaction to the news. Actress Jackie, 66, was emotional as she admitted she had experienced a "rollercoaster" of emotions since the reports the 40 year-long show is set to be no more.

Since 1985 the residents of Ramsay Street have held a special place in the hearts of British telly addicts.
