Prime Video has sent the Italian instalment of the Russo Brothers’ global sci-fi event series Citadel into production and cast Matilda de Angelis (The Undoing, Leonardo) as its lead, as Amazon Italy execs today touted the streamer’s local growth here at the MIA Market in Rome.

Sam Rockwell is no stranger to dark comedy, thanks to his work with Martin McDonaugh. But he’ll get a new screen partner in his next one, as Deadline reports Rockwell will star opposite Kumail Nanjiani in “A Guy Walks Into A Bar,” which just wrangled an Interim Agreement from SAG-AFTRA to start shooting before the year closes.

Citadel, the long-in-the-works global spy thriller drama from Amazon Studios and the Russo Brothers’ AGBO, is eyeing the biggest debut for a series on the streamer based on original IP.

The Sands International Film Festival, Scotland’s burgeoning film event, opened its second edition this weekend with the world premiere screening of Citadel, the much-talked-about Prime Video series from Marvel auteurs Anthony and Joe Russo.

Prime Video has postponed the release of the first trailer for its global spy series from Anthony and Joe Russo in light of the tragic events in Greece where a passenger train collided with a freight train, claiming at least 38 lives, with scores of others injured.

The images for the big-budget series, starring Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Richard Madden, feature British actor Lesley Manville which is being revealed as a core series regular alongside previously announced Madden, Chopra Jonas and Stanley Tucci.

EXCLUSIVE: Disney has set Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Lil Rel Howery, and Teyonah Parris to star in the holiday comedy Dashing Through the Snow with Tim Story directing. Production is currently under way in Atlanta with the film set to bow on Disney Plus next holiday season. The film is produced by Will Packer through his Will Packer Productions, and John Jacobs through his Smart Entertainment. Story will also exec produce along with Johanna Byer, Ross Fanger and Zac Unterman. Film was penned by Scott Rosenberg.
