Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania screenwriter Jeff Loveness has revealed his thoughts on the negative reviews that the latest Marvel Cinematic Universe film has received.Following the release of the film, which has seen a sharp decrease in viewership in the box office across the globe in just its second week, Loveness has revealed in an interview with The Daily Beast that he was “surprised” by the film’s negative reception.“To be honest, those reviews took me by surprise,” Loveness said, “I was in a pretty low spot… Those were not good reviews, and I was like, ‘What the… ?'”. Disney’s third standalone “Ant-Man” movie is expected to collect $95 million to $100 million in North America over the traditional weekend and $110 through President’s Day on Monday. As the only new nationwide release, it’ll take the No. 1 spot, from “Magic Mike’s Last Dance,” with ease. At the international box office, “Ant-Man 3” is looking to clear at least $160 million — though estimates range from $130 million to as high as $190 million. China, where “Quantumania” is projected to bring in $35 million to $55 million, will be key in the final weekend tally. It’s one of the rare Hollywood movies — and only the second Marvel tentpole since 2019’s“Avengers: Endgame” and “Spider-Man: Far From Home” — to play in Chinese movie theaters.

Peyton Reed’s “Ant-Man” films have generally served as a kind of palate cleanser to the world-ending stakes of the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe. Paul Rudd’s Scott Lang is just an ordinary dude, or so they keep telling us, who still can’t really believe that he’s part of the Avengers at all. He gets to be the wide-eyed middle-aged fanboy of the group in those films. In his own films, he’s just living a blue-sky life in San Francisco as an affable single dad and ex-con who was once fired from Baskin Robbins and who has occasional enemies to defeat.

As such Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania is a mixed bag, still containing the lighter comedy of the 2015 original and 2018 followup, both set in San Francisco, but now taking us deep into a subatomic universe where the familial characters will experience both good and evil forces, some wacky new creatures that look like they are straight out of a Star Wars bar, and a mission to save this dizzying community of colorful beings who are being terroized by another comic book legend now embodied by the imposing and talented Jonathan Majors, clearly aiming to be the next major player in the MCU.

Paul Rudd has revealed that his children assumed he just worked at the cinema, and he never corrected them. The Hollywood star is currently promoting his third Ant Man film, Quantumania and in a new interview on Sunday Today With Willie Geist, Rudd revealed that starring in the Marvel movie helped his children work out what he did for a living.“When my kids were very young, they didn’t understand [what I did for a job]. I’m not going to sit them down when they’re three and say ‘I’ve got some DVDs to show you’.
