Hugh Dennis has said that he’s ‘sad’ but remains ‘proud’ as Mock the Week begins its last ever season on the BBC. The comedian and actor, 60, has appeared as a team captain on the topical stand-up show ever since it began in 2005 – more than 200 episodes have been broadcast since then. The series featured many household names, including series regulars Frankie Boyle and Russell Howard, and has also featured the likes of Michael McIntyre, Rhod Gilbert, and Sarah Millican.

Channel 4 has announced Taskmaster will kick off its new series later this month.As announced on Thursday (March 16), series 15 of the comedy game show will start on Thursday March 30 at 9pm on Channel 4.The line-up for the new series includes comedians Frankie Boyle, Jenny Eclair and Ivo Graham, alongside Ghosts star Kiell Smith-Bynoe and Mae Martin, who created and starred in the Netflix comedy series Feel Good.Series 14 concluded in December last year, which featured Dara Ó Briain, Fern Brady, John Kearns, Munya Chawawa and Sarah Millican. A New Year’s special aired in January.Enormous news: #Taskmaster Series 15, starring @frankieboyle, @IvoGraham, @jennyeclair, @kfRedhot and @TheMaeMartin starts Thursday 30th March on @Channel4.

Australian version of ‘Taskmaster’ is in the works

Taskmaster is in development at Paramount.As reported by Variety, Taskmaster Australia will be produced by Avalon Television with Kevin & Co for Network 10.The series, set to be released next year, will be hosted by comedian and writer Tom Gleeson, alongside Tom Cashman.Taskmaster has been adapted for various countries since it originally debuted in the UK in 2015, including New Zealand, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Canada.Alex Horne, who originally created the format and co-hosts the UK version, is an executive producer on the Australian series, alongside Richard Allen-Turner, Rob Aslett, James Taylor, Jon Thoday and Andy Devonshire.The UK version is currently in its fourteenth series on Channel 4, co-hosted by Greg Davies.

Channel 4 has announced that series 14 of Taskmaster will air weekly from Thursday September 29 at 9pm.Hosted by Greg Davies and his assistant Alex Horne, the comedy game show returns this month to put a new line-up of celebrity contestants through a series of bizarre challenges.The line-up for this series includes comedians Dara Ó Briain, Fern Brady, John Kearns, Munya Chawawa and Sarah Millican.A synopsis reads: “Across the series, Greg will be presented with visual evidence of the competence, or otherwise, of this cross-section of comics trying to complete a range of tasks that may or may not be useful in everyday life.
