Ken Burns‘ two-part, four-hour documentary Leonardo da Vinci is set to air on November 18-19 from 8-10 p.m. ET on PBS. The project, co-directed with Sarah Burns and Dave McMahon, is Burns’ first non-American subject.

Charna Flam Bill Hader insists he never had any long range plans for “Barry’s” storylines. At the Los Angeles premiere of the HBO series’ fourth and final season on Sunday, Hader told Variety when he first began the process of developing and pitching “Barry” seven years ago, he had “no idea where the series was going to end up.” In fact, he says, Season 4 is “totally different” than his original plans. As the series wrapped, Hader revealed those final days were “very bittersweet,” but everyone was “also so tired, we were exhausted,” he said, laughing. “Barry’s” fourth season picks up with Barry in prison after killing Janice (Paula Newsome), his mentor Gene Cousineau’s (Henry Winkler) girlfriend, in Season 1. “I had some sense of where we were headed,” said Sarah Goldberg, who plays Sally. “But I was very surprised by all the details on the way there.”

EXCLUSIVE: Emmy-winning filmmaker Erika Dilday is joining Ken Burns, Sarah Burns, and David McMahon as co-director and co-producer of the upcoming documentary film Emancipation to Exodus (working title). It’s a long-term commitment – the film about a critical period in the African American experience isn’t expected to air on PBS until 2027.

Lily Tomlin has performed for royalty and is telling the tale. During a recent appearance on "The Late Late Show with James Corden," Tomlin remembered traveling to England to perform for Queen Elizabeth II at an event for the Olympics in 1971. She was there alongside performers Liza Minnelli and the Osmond family.  "I did Edith Ann and Ernestine," Tomlin said, referencing two iconic characters she's created.

Joe Otterson TV Reporter“Barry” has been renewed for Season 4 at HBO, Variety has learned.The news comes after the Emmy-winning dark comedy series has aired just four episodes of its third season. Episodes of the show air on HBO and HBO Max on Sundays. Production on Season 4 will begin in June in Los Angeles, with series star and co-creator Bill Hader set to direct all eight episodes.The Season 3 cast includes Hader, Henry Winkler, Sarah Goldberg, Anthony Carrigan, Stephen Root, and Sarah Burns.

Kevin Smith made the political horror-comedy “Red State” in 2011 and when he toured around the country, he outlined his overall vision for the movie as a cross between “Quentin Tarantino movie by way of The Coen Brothers.” While such ambitious aims were noble, Smith fell vastly short in the eyes of most (although, its “Burn After Reading,” close-the-file ending with John Goodman, wherein weed saves the day remains great).

Screen Media has acquired U.S. rights to Eat Wheaties!, Scott Abramovitch’s comedy that stars Tony Hale along with Paul Walter Hauser, Danielle Brooks, Lamorne Morris, Robbie Amell, David Walton, Sarah Burns, Elisha Cuthbert, Sarah Chalke, Sarah Goldberg and Alan Tudyk. It now will hit theaters and on-demand on April 30.
