Samson Dingle teased his Emmerdale exit after finding out his exam results in Thursday night's episode. Samson, who is portrayed by Sam Hall, has been in the centre of village drama of late after blackmailing his cousin Noah Dingle for his inheritance money from the Tates. He also conceived a baby with Amelia Spencer last year, who gave birth in October – but Samson refuses to have anything to do with their child.

It’s a big year for Emmerdale as the soap gears up to celebrate 50 years of being on TVs across the country. In his time on the ITV soap Samson Dingle has been part of some of the soap’s biggest storylines since his birth to parents Alice and Sam Dingle in 2006. His premature birth, mum’s cancer diagnosis and dad’s part in helping her die all happened in the first eight months of his time on the soap.

Sam Hall has played the part of Samson Dingle in Emmerdale since 2009. He is currently the fourth actor to do so, taking over most recently from Charlie Pell when he was just five years old. Sam, 18, is two years older than his on screen character who was born on January 12, 2006 – making him 16.
