Prince Edward and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh proudly watched on as daughter Lady Louise competed in the carriage driving contest at the Royal Windsor Horse Show. Lady Louise, 19, inherited her passion for carriage driving from her grandfather, the late Prince Philip, who was instrumental in helping to establish the sport in Britain. Her mother Sophie, 58, braved the rain as she presented rosettes to competitors in the show's fancy dress competition.

The Duke of Edinburgh sported a virtual reality (VR) headset as he tried out a riding simulator at the Royal Windsor Horse Show. A smiling Edward was filmed sitting astride the model horse as he clutched its reins and moved his head about to take in the simulation, at the event in the grounds of Windsor Castle, Berkshire, on Thursday 11 May. Edward, 59, shared a joke with two people who helped him put the headset on.

The Royal Windsor Horse Show is currently in full swing, and it is known to be one of the Queen's favourite events.

The Queen looked radiant in pink as she attended the Royal Windsor Horse Show to present an award which is believed to be her favourite event in the diary. Her Majesty, 95, was all smiles as she arrived at the prestigious equestrian competition on Saturday 3 July dressed in a beautiful pink buttoned coat with a matching hat.

Nothing brings a smile to Queen Elizabeth’s face quite like horses do.
