Todd Spangler NY Digital Editor It’s the end of the road for Warner Bros. Discovery‘s MotorTrend+ automotive streaming service. The media company announced that MotorTrend+ will be shut down after content from the service is fully migrated to Discovery+ and Max at the end of March.

Dwayne Johnson takes on the role of a retired NFL player in HBO series Ballers.Created by Stephen Levinson (Entourage), the sports comedy drama follows Spencer Strasmore (Johnson) as he navigates his new career as a financial manager for other NFL players following his retirement from the sport.Other cast members include Rob Corddry, John David Washington, Omar Miller, Troy Garity, London Brown and Jazmyn Simon.The show first premiered on HBO in 2015 and concluded after five seasons in October 2019.Johnson first announced Ballers was ending in August 2019 on Instagram, ahead of the season five premiere.While HBO never explicitly stated the reason behind its cancellation, the show’s ratings had dropped significantly in its later seasons. EXCLUSIVE: Rob Corddry is set as a lead opposite Terry Crews and Ryan Michelle Bathé in JumpStart, CBS’ multi-camera comedy pilot based on Robb Armstrong’s long-running comic strip, from Aaron Kaplan’s Kapital Entertainment, Wendi Trilling’s TrillTV and CBS Studios. He rounds out the series regular cast of the pilot, which Glynn Turman has joined as a guest star in a recurring role.

Paramount+ has unveiled a premiere date for 80 for Brady, announcing that the hit film from Paramount Pictures and Fifth Season will bow on the platform in the U.S. and Canada on April 4, coming to additional international markets on dates to be announced down the road.

Selome Hailu Good Trip Studios has entered production on a sequel to the 2020 documentary “Have a Good Trip: Adventures in Psychedelics.” A distribution deal has yet to be finalized, though the first film — directed by Donick Cary and hosted by Adam Scott and Nick Offerman — streamed on Netflix. Like the first film, “Have a Good Trip 2: Adventures in Psychedelics” explores the current state of psychedelic drugs in society as well as their scientific potential to treat mental health issues including PTSD, depression and addiction. Comedians and celebrities are featured in re-tellings and re-enactments of true experiences with psychedelics, while leading experts share facts and harm reduction methods.

SmartLess Media, the company that grew out of Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes, and Will Arnett’s eponymous podcast, has lined up its first slate of audio series.

CBS yesterday canceled two sophomore series including The Unicorn, one of the best reviewed broadcast comedy series to debut in the past two years.
