Watch FKA Twigs hitch a ride in “cheeky” new ‘Honda’ video

FKA Twigs has shared the official video for her latest single ‘Honda’ – you can watch it below.The track appears on the singer-songwriter’s ‘Caprisongs’ mixtape, which was released back in January via Young.The video, which sees Twigs hitch a ride on top of a car, was directed by Aidan Zamiri, who also helmed the official videos for Twigs’ previous singles ‘Papi Bones’ (featuring Shygirl), ‘Meta Angel’, ‘Jealousy’ (featuring Rema) and ‘Oh My Love’.Speaking about the song’s video and the lengths she went to get the perfect shots, Twigs told Rolling Stone: “Yolo, like with me it’s just anything to get the shot. Working with Aiden Zamiri has been incredible, he’s a genius.She added: “‘Honda’ for me is like a perfect definition of a caprivid because it’s super short and cheeky and it leaves you wanting more.”You can watch the ‘Honda’ video below:Earlier this month, it was announced that FKA Twigs had directed a new short film, in which she also stars, as part of the 2022 International Woolmark Prize celebrations.Playscape features Twigs and others dancing to ‘He Hu’ by Duval Timothy and Rosie Lowe, before X-Ray Spex‘s classic ‘Identity’ takes over.

Soft Cell announce two expanded versions of ‘*Happiness Not Included’

Soft Cell have announced a pair of expanded versions of their 2022 chart-topping album ‘*Happiness Not Included’.‘*Happiness Now Extended’ will feature longer versions of all 12 tracks from the original version, while ‘*Happiness Now Completed’ will feature 10 previously unreleased songs from the same recording sessions, penned by members Marc Almond and Dave Ball. The latter also houses covers of songs by Giorgio Moroder, X-Ray Spex and Fad Gadget.The two expanded versions are set for release on July 28 via BMG.

The singer is offered relationship advice while having a set of long acrylic nails applied.“Fuck crying over these stupid boys that don’t even recognise the worth in themselves,” the nail artist tells Twigs at one point.

FKA Twigs has directed a new short film in which she also stars as part of the 2022 International Woolmark Prize celebrations.Playscape features Twigs and others dancing to ‘He Hu’ by Duval Timothy and Rosie Lowe before X-Ray Spex‘s classic ‘Identity’ takes over. The film has been made in tribute to the annual prize, which awards achievement in fashion.The film takes place among the works of sculptor Isamu Noguchi at the Noguchi Foundation Museum in Queens, New York City, according to Pitchfork.“It is an honour to be chosen by the Woolmark Prize to work with such talented designers and to create my first piece of work with Juliano Nunes, innovator of dance for the Avant Garden collective,” Twigs said in a statement.Meanwhile, Twigs has teamed up with Yung Lean for new song ‘Bliss‘.The single appears on Lean’s new mixtape ‘Stardust’, which was released last Friday (April 8).

Soft Cell and Pet Shop Boys have teamed up for a joint single, ‘Purple Zone’, which appears on the former’s new album ‘*Happiness Not Included‘.It unites the synthpop stalwarts for a dazzling new song that will now appear on Soft Cell’s first album in 20 years, after fans responded well to its airing at recent live shows.The song was originally intended to be remixed by Pet Shop Boys until it morphed into a full collaboration, which Soft Cell’s David Ball has labelled as “probably our finest pop moment since the early 1980s”.“Working with the Pet Shop Boys was a pleasure, and this track is the perfect combination of us and them,” Soft Cell’s Marc Almond added, while Pet Shop Boys’ Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe said: “We are thrilled to collaborate with such an inspirational duo as Soft Cell on this gorgeous song.”‘Purple Zone’ is released on CD and 12” formats as well as digitally (pre-order here).
