The tragic news of the Queen's death has been announced - and with that, the UK will enter a period of national mourning.There will be a number of changes to our day to day lives over the coming weeks and detailed plans have been in the works for many years. Planning for the Queen's death has two codenames, 'Operation London Bridge' and 'Operation Unicorn', with the latter in place to cover what happens if the Queen dies in Scotland, as she sadly now has.

While Charles is now King Charles III, Camilla is Queen, serving as Queen Consort by her husband's side.The wife of a king automatically becomes a queen consort and Elizabeth II endorsed the Duchess of Cornwall to be known as Queen when the time came earlier this year.The Queen said it was her “sincere wish” that Camilla would take the title and called on the public to back both her daughter-in-law and Charles when he became King.

In the aftermath of the Queen’s death, many members of the royal family will see a change in their titles as King Charles takes to the throne. Included in this will be the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s children Archie and Lilibet who, according to royal protocol, will be given HRH titles when their grandfather ascends to the throne.

Prince William was spotted driving fellow royals to Balmoral Castle as the family rushed to Scotland to be by The Queen's bedside. Hours before the sad news of the Queen's passing, the Duke of Cambridge was pictured in the driving seat with uncle Prince Andrew, the Duke of York, by his side while Sophie, Countess of Wessex ,and his uncle Edward, Earl of Wessex, were in the backseats.The royals made a dash to Scotland to be there for the Queen who, in a statement shared on Thursday afternoon, was revealed to be under "medical supervision" after her doctors became "concerned" for our monarch's health.
