Former MLB star Jeremy Giambi died on Wednesday morning at his parents’ home in southern California.

Jeremy Giambi was an outfielder and first baseman who played for major league teams including the Oakland Athletics.Giambi played college baseball for the Cal State Fullerton Titans, helping the team to victory in the 1995 College World Series. He was drafted by the Kansas City Royals in 1996, making his major league debut with the team in 1998. Giambi was traded to the A’s in 2000, where he was involved in a notable moment during the 2001 American League Division Series.

Jeremy Giambi, who was portrayed in the film and book versions of Moneyball and played for four teams, including the Oakland Athletics, Boston Red Sox, and Philadelphia Phillies, has died. He was 47 and no cause of death was released.
