Rebecca Rubin Film and Media ReporterThomas Barbusca has joined the cast of “Incoming,” a high-school comedy from directors Dave and John Chernin.The project reunites Barbusca and the Chernin brothers, who worked together on the Fox TV comedy “The Mick.”“Incoming” follows four incoming freshmen as they navigate the terrors of adolescence at their first-ever high school party. The cast also includes “The Black Phone” actor Mason Thames, Bobby Cannavale and fellow “Mick” alum Kaitlin Olson.The Chernin brothers, also known for “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” are writing and directing in their feature filmmaking debut.

Netflix has snapped up rights to Incoming, a comedy written and directed by The Mick creators Dave Chernin and John Chernin, in their feature debut.

The New York Comic-Con panel for TriStar and Spyglass’ Eli Roth directed horror movie, Thanksgiving, just canceled. No reason was provided by the studio. A sit-down chat with the genre filmmaker, who was going to show off a featurette in the room, was to take place tomorrow, Oct. 13 at the Empire Stage in the Javits Center at 8 30PM.

She will work closely with Peter Oillataguerre, Spyglass’ president of production, while reporting directly to Spyglass chairman and CEO Gary Barber.

The pic will be released on March 31, 2023.

Netflix has closed a deal with Skydance to produce a reimagining of the successful 2001 “Spy Kids” franchise alongside Spyglass Media and creator and director Robert Rodriguez, the companies announced on Wednesday.Rodriguez will write and direct the new film, and like the original series, the new “Spy Kids” movie will focus on a multicultural family of international spies.The film will mark Rodriguez’s second family film with Netflix, following the 2020 family action film “We Can Be Heroes.” The original “Spy Kids” was released 21 years ago Wednesday, to the day.Spyglass owns the “Spy Kids” franchise. Skydance will serve as the lead studio and oversee development and production.

Spyglass Media has tapped Peter Oillataguerre as president of production. Oillataguerre will run theatrical production for the company, including creative development, physical production and postproduction, Spyglass chairman and CEO Gary Barber announced Monday.
