Bad Bunny is being sued by his ex-girlfriend for the alleged unauthorised use of one of her voice recordings in his music, it has been reported.Per Pitchfork, the audio clip in question appears on the Puerto Rican artist’s 2016 single ‘Pa Ti’, as well as the song ‘Dos Mil 16’ from his fourth and latest studio album, ‘Un Verano Sin Ti’ (2022).The message hears Bunny’s former partner Carliz De La Cruz Hernández saying “Bad Bunny, baby”.De La Cruz reportedly filed a lawsuit against the rapper/singer this month in a Puerto Rico court. She claims that both her voice and the phrase – which she allegedly came up with – were being used without her permission.According to Pitchfork, De La Cruz is seeking $40million (£33m) in compensation.A translation of the lawsuit reads: “Thousands of people have commented directly on Carliz’s social media networks, as well as every time she goes to a public place, about ‘Bad Bunny, baby’.“This has caused, and currently causes, De La Cruz to feel worried, anguished, intimidated, overwhelmed and anxious.”Also being sued are Bad Bunny’s label Rimas Entertainment and his manager, Noah Kamil Assad Byrne.Bad Bunny and De La Cruz are said to have been together between 2011 and 2017.

Tierra Whack has announced her first new full-length album since 2018, entitled ‘World Wide Whack’.Earlier today (January 23), the Philadelphia rapper took to Instagram to announce the new project, in a post which displayed the album’s cover – shot by conceptual artist Alex De Corte – and called the upcoming release her “debut album”, though it would technically be her second. “‘World Wide Whack’, my debut album out on 3/15,” read its caption.

Lil Peep’s mother, Liza Womack, has reached a settlement in the multi-million dollar wrongful death lawsuit that stemmed from her son’s fatal drug overdose in 2017.Womack filed the lawsuit (regarding legal responsibility for Lil Peep’s death) against the rapper’s management and label services company, First Access Entertainment. Per Pitchfork, a notice filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Friday (February 17) outlined that Womack had settled the wrongful death lawsuit with the company, though terms of the settlement remain undisclosed.“Liza has been indefatigable in her pursuit of justice for her son,” Womack’s lawyer Paul Matiasic said in a statement to Pitchfork.

Joe Strummer and his post-The Clash band The Mescaleros has been announced.Set to be release by Dark Horse Records, ‘Joe Strummer 002: The Mescaleros Years’ will be released on September 16 and marks the first time a comprehensive anthology of the outfit’s work has been issued.The collection will feature remastered versions of the band’s three studio albums – ‘Rock Art And The X-Ray Style (1999), ‘Global A Go-Go’ (2001) and ‘Streetcore’ (2003), the latter released posthumously.As well as this, some of the first demos Strummer wrote for the group will appear in the box set’s 15 rare and unreleased tracks, remastered by Paul Hicks.Per Pitchfork, the collection also includes the song ‘Ocean Of Dreams’, which featured Sex Pistols guitarist Steve Jones.To mark the box set announcement, the label has put out the previously unreleased song ‘The Road To Rock ‘N’ Roll’.
