Laura Pausini was recognized this Wednesday in Sevilla with the award ‘Person of the Year.’ The recognition is one handed out by the Latin Grammys 2023, and was granted to acknowledge Pausini’s incredible career as a singer and musician. The big show is set to take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on April 20. The awards show will also honor Colombian singer-songwriter Carlos Vives and ranchera music champion Pepe Aguilar during the awards show’s eighth iteration and with a pre-ceremony special titled “Latin AMA’s: Legacy” on April 4 via UniMás. They will each sit down for an interview and perform remotely from their respective homes in Bogotá and Mexico City.

The artist passed away this Wednesday at the age of 90 at her home, the El Soyate ranch, in Zacatecas, Mexico.Flor Silvestre, whose birth name was Guillermina Jiménez Chabolla, was one of the artists from the golden era of Mexican cinema.

Flor Silvestre, one of Mexico’s most popular singers who also starred in scores of films, died today at 90. Televisa’s Espectáculos said she died surrounded by her family — including her son, singer and actor Pepe Aguilar — at Rancho el Soyate, the Zacatecas ranch she once shared with her late husband, the singer and actor Antonio Aguilar.
