According to Variety, Paramount+ and Paramount Television Studios are in the early stages of adapting the cult classic film. The only member of the creative team currently attached to the project is Mark Johnson, who produced the movie of the same name. Johnson will serve as executive producer of the Paramount series.

Paramount Television Studios is taking a new stab at a Galaxy Quest TV series based on DreamWorks’ cult 1999 sci-fi comedy movie. The project, which is in early stages of development, is set up at Paramount+. It is executive produced by the film’s producer Mark Johnson via his Gran Via Productions. There is no concept or a writer yet. Reps for Paramount+ and Paramount TV Studios declined comment.

Selome Hailu Good Trip Studios has entered production on a sequel to the 2020 documentary “Have a Good Trip: Adventures in Psychedelics.” A distribution deal has yet to be finalized, though the first film — directed by Donick Cary and hosted by Adam Scott and Nick Offerman — streamed on Netflix. Like the first film, “Have a Good Trip 2: Adventures in Psychedelics” explores the current state of psychedelic drugs in society as well as their scientific potential to treat mental health issues including PTSD, depression and addiction. Comedians and celebrities are featured in re-tellings and re-enactments of true experiences with psychedelics, while leading experts share facts and harm reduction methods.

EXCLUSIVE: CBS is taking an alternative approach to comedy development with A Lot, an improvisational-style multi-camera series starring June Diane Raphael and Paul Scheer. The project hails from Grace and Frankie creator Marta Kauffman through her Okay Goodnight banner and Lionsgate Television. Marvel’s Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur has gotten an early Season 2 renewal. Disney Branded Television has ordered a second season of the animated series ahead of its Feb. 10 premiere. The animated show debuts first Disney Channel and shortly thereafter on Disney+. The news, along with a clip from the theme song, “Moon Girl Magic,” written and produced by executive music producer Raphael Saadiq and performed by series star Diamond White (voice of Lunella aka Moon Girl), was revealed today during the series’ panel at New York Comic Con.
