Spears claims that her father and Tri Star took advantage of her finances throughout the conservatorship and has made damning allegations about their alleged behavior towards her, which she has categorized as “conservatorship abuse.” The judge recently sided with the singer, ordering that her father must sit for a deposition this month, and ruling that she would not be deposed.

Jamie Spears’ days of putting Britney Spears under a microscope are long gone!
Britney Spears' favor on Wednesday, saying that the singer will not have to sit for a deposition in the ongoing legal battle with her father.Britney's lawyer, Mathew Rosengart, argued that she feels traumatized by her experience under Jamie Spears' long-running conservatorship and that exposing her to invasive questioning via a deposition would further re-traumatize her. He asked the court, «What would a decent father do?» Jamie's lawyer, Alex Weingarten, called the plea «theatrics» and «attacks,» saying that Jamie cared for his daughter «beautifully.» He said Jamie deserved a chance to question Britney under oath about her public allegations against him. Judge Brenda Penny ultimately decided that any information Jamie needs to defend himself against allegations of conservatorship abuse could be obtained from other sources, including documents and other witnesses.
A US court yesterday declined to force Britney Spears to sit for a deposition as part of her ongoing legal dispute with her father over the management of the conservatorship that ran her life for thirteen years.Although that often controversial conservatorship was brought to an end last year, there remains plenty of legal wrangling in relation to it, including over allegations that Spears’ father Jamie, in his role overseeing the conservatorship, mismanaged his daughter’s finances and spied on her by monitoring her phone calls and putting a listening device in her bedroom. As part of the legal proceedings, Jamie has been ordered to take part in a deposition, in which he will have to answer questions posed by his daughter’s legal team under oath. In return, Jamie’s lawyers wanted Britney to do the same, answering their questions. However, her lawyer Mathew Rosengart argued that such a deposition would “re-traumatise” his client just as she is she is getting her life back together following last year’s termination of the conservatorship.According to Variety, he told the court: “Whether [Jamie] accepts it or not, his daughter feels traumatised by what she went through at his hands for more than a decade”.
Britney Spears was recently handed another win in her conservatorship case as a judge ruled Wednesday that Spears will not have to sit for a deposition Spears' attorney, Mathew Rosengart, argued in court that she "feels traumatized by what she went through" and answering questions from her father Jamie Spears' attorney, Alex Weingarten, would "retraumatize" her, per Page Six. Weingarten reportedly plans to appeal the decision. Jamie Spears will sit for a deposition by Aug.
Britney Spears will not have to answer questions from her father’s lawyer in a deposition, a probate judge ruled on Wednesday.Spears’ father, Jamie Spears, sought the court’s permission to take Spears’ deposition as the two sides continue to war over attorneys’ fees and other costs connected to her 13-year conservatorship. But Judge Brenda Penny ruled that a deposition would not be likely to produce information relevant to the remaining issues in the case.Britney Spears’ lawyer, Mathew Rosengart, said that a deposition would serve only to “retraumatize” his client. He also said that Spears would not be a witness in any future trial or evidentiary proceeding in the case.Spears was put under a court-ordered conservatorship in 2008 by her father, who acted as her sole conservator for most of the 13 years.
