EXCLUSIVE: Ahead of its world premiere at SXSW, the Nicolas Cage thriller Arcadian has been acquired by RLJE Films, in a deal for North America, UK, Australia and Ireland rights. Also starring Jaeden Martell (It), Maxwell Jenkins (Lost in Space), and Sadie Soverall (Saltburn), the film will be released in theaters on April 12, with a debut on Shudder and AMC+ to follow later in the year.

EXCLUSIVE: RLJE Films and Shudder have acquired rights for all English-language territories to It’s a Wonderful Knife, a horror film starring Jane Widdop (Yellowjackets), Joel McHale (Community) and Justin Long (Barbarian) that is set to make its world premiere at L.A.’s Beyond Fest October 8th.

Directed by John Stalberg Jr. (“Crypto”) and based on a script by Carlyle Eubank (“The Signal”) from a story byEubank and Stalberg Jr., the film is set to debut in theaters and will be made available on all rental platforms on Sept.

EXCLUSIVE: RLJE Films and Shudder have picked up worldwide rights to the erotic horror thriller Suitable Flesh, starring Heather Graham (Boogie Nights), ahead of the film’s world premiere at the Tribeca Festival. Pic will hit theaters, VOD and digital later this year, with its streaming debut on Shudder to follow.

Brent Lang Executive Editor RLJE Films has acquired the U.S.rights to “The Dive,” a thriller about a deep-sea diving trip that takes a catastrophic turn. The movie is co-written and directed by Max Erlenwein, who previously made “Stereo.” RLJE Films, which is a business unit of AMC Networks, made the deal with augenschein Film produktion and Protagonist Pictures. The company will release the film on August 25, 2023 in theaters and on demand. Erlenwein co-wrote the screenplay with Joachim Hedén (“Breaking Surface”). The movie Louisa Krause (“Billions”) and Sophie Lowe (“Medieval”) as sisters Drew and May. After a massive landslide sends rocks tumbling into the sea, May is struck by a rock and now lies deep below the surface, trapped by debris and unable to move. That means Drew must put her own life in jeopardy to save her sister before time runs out.

Katie Reul editor RLJE Films has acquired the North America, U.K., Ireland, Australia and New Zealand rights to “Sympathy for the Devil,” an upcoming psychological thriller starring Nicolas Cage (“Mandy”) and Joel Kinnaman (“The Suicide Squad” film series). An agreement was reached between RLJE Films chief acquisitions officer Mark Ward and Christian Mercuri’s Capstone Global, an international company in charge of the feature’s global sales. “This is our eighth collaboration with Nicolas Cage, which includes ‘Mandy’ — a critically-acclaimed film that has a huge cult following,” Ward said. “Once again, he doesn’t disappoint. In this film, Cage and Joel Kinnaman bring to life a suspenseful tale on screen that will keep audiences guessing.”

RLJE Films has acquired the Nicolas Cage-starring psychological thriller “Sympathy for the Devil” from worldwide sales agent Capstone Global.The AMC Networks subsidiary will distribute the film in North America, the U.K., Ireland, Australia and New Zealand, with a release date set for July 28, 2023.Co-starring Joel Kinnaman (“The Suicide Squad” 1 & 2, “Hanna”), “Sympathy for the Devil” tells the story of a man (Kinnaman) who is forced at gunpoint to drive a strange passenger (Cage) in a game of cat and mouse where everything is not as it seems. Yuval Adler (“Bethlehem,” “The Operative”) directed from a debut script by Luke Paradise.

RLJE Films has snapped up rights to the psychological thriller Sympathy for the Devil, starring Academy Award winner Nicolas Cage (Mandy) and Joel Kinnaman (Suicide Squad films), for North America, the UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand. Bringing the film to the AMC Networks business unit was Christian Mercuri’s Capstone Global, which is handling global sales. It’s set for release on July 28.

Brent Lang Executive Editor Ahead of its world premiere at SXSW, RLJE Films and its sister brands under AMC Networks have acquired the North American rights to the horror/thriller, “The Angry Black Girl and Her Monster.” Those brands include Shudder and AllBlk, all of which share a parent company. The horror-thriller is debuting in the Austin-based festival’s “Visions” category, a special program that “champions audacious, risk-taking artists in the new cinema landscape.” The movie follows a brilliant teenager who believes death is a disease that can be cured. After the brutal and sudden murder of her brother, the teen embarks on a dangerous journey to bring him back to life. It’s a journey inspired by Mary Shelley’s “Frankenstein.”

EXCLUSIVE: Kurt Wimmer’s redo of Stephen King’s Children of the Corn has been picked up by RLJE Films and AMC network’s horror streaming service Shudder. The movie will hit theaters on March 3 in an 18 day theatrical window before hitting demand and digital on March 21.

EXCLUSIVE: RLJE Films has picked up North American rights to actor Mo McRae’s feature directorial debut, A Lot of Nothing — a satirical thriller starring Y’Ian Noel (Insecure), Cleopatra Coleman (The Last Man on Earth), Lex Scott Davis (Rebel), Shamier Anderson (Invasion) and Justin Hartley (This Is Us). AMC Networks’ business unit has slated the film for release in theaters and on demand on February 3rd.

EXCLUSIVE: RLJE Films, Shudder and AMC+ have fully financed and picked up distribution rights to The Apology, a previously unannounced thriller starring Anna Gunn (Breaking Bad), Linus Roache (My Policeman) and Janeane Garofalo (Wet Hot American Summer). RLJE Films will release the pic in theaters on December 16, with the title becoming available for streaming on Shudder and AMC+ the same day.

Both companies are business units of AMC Networks. Shudder is a streaming service that focuses on horror, thriller and supernatural films. RLJE Films will release the alien invasion film in theaters, on demand and across digital platforms in early 2023. A Shudder release will follow later in the year.  “Kids vs. Aliens” centers on Gary, who wants to make awesome home movies with his best buds. All his older sister Samantha wants is to hang with the cool kids. When their parents head out of town one Halloween weekend, a teen house party turns to terror when aliens attack, forcing the siblings to band together to survive the night.

Shudder will release the film in 2023. Both RLJE and Shudder are business units of AMC Networks Shudder focuses on streaming movies in the horror, thriller and supernatural genres. “Nocebo” centers on a fashion designer (Green), who suffers from a mysterious illness that confounds her doctors and frustrates her husband (Strong). Help arrives in the form of a Filipino nanny (Chai Fonacier) who uses traditional folk healing to reveal a horrifying truth.

The movie from director Lucky McKee (“All Cheerleaders Die”) stars Stephen Lang, who is best known for his work as the chief villain in “Avatar.” It marks the screenwriting debut of Joel Veach and co-sters Marc Senter (“Starry Eyes”), Liana Wright-Mark (“Ocean’s 8”), and Patch Darragh (“Succession”).

EXCLUSIVE: AMC Networks’ business unit RLJE Films and its genre streaming service Shudder have acquired North American rights to the Neil Marshall-directed horror film The Lair from Highland Film Group, with the latter also picking up the rights for UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand. RLJE Films will release the pic in theaters and on digital and VOD on October 28, with Shudder bringing it to streaming early next year.

EXCLUSIVE: RLJE Films has acquired North American rights to Taurus, the film starring Colson Baker (aka Machine Gun Kelly). The drama, which had its world premiere earlier this year at the Berlin Film Festival, is gearing up for its North American premiere next month at the Tribeca Festival. It will now get a theatrical release later this year.

It will be available to Shudder subscribers on the same day.

On Tuesday, AMC+ and RLJE Films announced they have acquired worldwide rights to “Christmas With the Campbells,” a new holiday comedy based on an original idea by Vince Vaughn, who also co-wrote and co-produced.The film, which per the official description takes the traditional holiday romance and “executes it with unfiltered adult humor,” will debut in theaters and and exclusively on AMC+ in the U.S. on the same day in late fall.Vaughn, Peter Billingsley (“Couples Retreat”) and Dan Lagana (“American Vandal”) produce under Vaughn’s Wild West Picture Show banner.It’s the second project Vaughn Billingsley have sold to RLJE, after 2021’s black Christmas comedy, “Silent Night,” which starred Keira Knightley.“We couldn’t have asked for a better cast and a group of filmmakers with whom to work,” said RLJE Films Chief Acquisitions Officer Mark Ward in a statement.

AMC+ and RLJE Films have acquired worldwide rights to the holiday comedy Christmas with the Campbells, starring Brittany Snow (Pitch Perfect franchise), Justin Long (He’s Just Not That Into You), Alex Moffat (Saturday Night Live), Julia Duffy (Newhart), George Wendt (Cheers) and JoAnna Garcia Swisher (Sweet Magnolias). The film produced by Vince Vaughn’s Wild West Picture Show will simultaneously hit theaters and AMC+ in the U.S. in late fall.

RLJE Films last night acquired U.S. rights to Riley Stearns’ thriller Dual in a competitive bidding situation, striking a low-mid seven figure deal for the film, which recently premiered in U.S. Dramatic Competition at the Sundance Film Festival.

New TD Mark Ward has revealed how he ended up homeless – and will now fight in the Dail to free families caught up in the housing crisis. Dad-of-three Ward, 44, says he spoke out about his own experience to show how anybody could end up without a home in Ireland today.
