EXCLUSIVE: There will be no second season for National Treasure as Disney+ has opted not to renew the adventure series for a second season.

I thought about destroying it a billion times to prevent it from falling into the wrong hands.” So begins the official trailer for National Treasure: Edge of History, the upcoming Disney+ series based on the hit film franchise. The trailer was unveiled Saturday by series star Catherine Zeta-Jones and her fellow cast members during Disney Branded Television’s presentation at the D23 Expo in Anaheim, CA. The series premieres Wednesday, December 14 with the first two episodes.

EXCLUSIVE: The Last Ship alum Tommy Savas is set for a key recurring role opposite Lisette Alexis in National Treasure, Disney Branded Television’s TV series for Disney+, produced by ABC Signature. The project, executive produced by the films’ producer Jerry Bruckheimer, director Jon Turteltaub and writers Marianne and Cormac Wibberley, is an expansion of the National Treasure movie franchise told from the point of view of young heroine Jess (Alexis) — a DREAMer in search of answers about her family — who embarks on the adventure of a lifetime to uncover the truth about the past and save a lost Pan-American treasure. Savas will play Dr. Zeke, who works at the city morgue. Savas appeared as a series regular on TNT’s The Last Ship as well as on NBC’s State of Affairs. On the film side, he starred and produced the comedy Bad Roomies alongside Patrick Renna. Savas is repped by Pakula/King & Associates and Vanguard Management Group.

Breeda Wool (Mass) is set for a key recurring role opposite Catherine Zeta-Jones in National Treasure, Disney Branded Television’s TV series for Disney+ produced by ABC Signature. Wool will play Kacey, a sarcastic, kick-ass henchwoman and Billie’s (Zeta-Jones) second-in-command. Wool co-stars in the critically acclaimed film, Mass, directed by Fran Kranz, and also stars in the soon-to-be-released, Ultrasound, from Magnolia Pictures. She previously starred in the Stephen King series, Mr. Mercedes from David E. Kelley. Most recently she wrapped a starring role on the film, Detained, opposite Abbie Cornish. She is repped by Bold Management & Production, Innovative Artists Agency, and attorney Karl Austen.
