Seven-time Oscar nominee Mike Leigh has reteamed with British actor Marianne Jean-Baptiste, who led his 1996 Oscar-nominated Secrets & Lies, on his latest feature, Hard Truths. We can share a first look at the feature above. 

Legendary’s “The Book of Clarence” has been dated to be released by Sony on Sept. 22, the studio announced on Thursday.Inspired by classic Hollywood epics set in biblical times, “The Book of Clarence” tells the tale of Clarence, a down on his luck denizen of Jerusalem embarking on a misguided attempt to capitalize on the rise of celebrity and influence of the Messiah for his own personal gain – a journey that leads him on an exploration of the idea of faith and to a highly unexpected path of his own.The Legendary Pictures film will reteam Samuel with Academy Award nominee LaKeith Stanfield in the title role as well as Omar Sy, RJ Cyler, BAFTA winner and Oscar nominee Benedict Cumberbatch, BAFTA winner James McAvoy, Anna Diop, Teyana Taylor, BAFTA nominee David Oyelowo, Oscar and BAFTA nominee Alfre Woodard and Oscar nominee Marianne Jean-Baptiste.

Sony has just dated Legendary’s Jeymes Samuel’s Biblical-time set feature The Book of Clarence for Sept. 22 this year.

K.J. Yossman Marianne Jean-Baptiste (“Boxing Day”), Alistair Petrie (“Sex Education”), Romola Garai (“The Hour”) have joined BBC drama series “The Following Events Are Based On A Pack Of Lies.”Rounding out the cast are Rebekah Staton (“Raised by Wolves”), Derek Jacobi (“Last Tango in Halifax”), Julian Barratt (“The Mighty Boosh”), Karl Johnson (“Hot Fuzz”) and Ellie Haddington (“Enola Holmes”).Robbie McKillop (“Guilt”) and Nicole Charles (“Hair Power: Me and My Afro”) will split directing duties on the series, which was created and written by Penelope Skinner and Ginny Skinner.Production has already begun on the series, which will be distributed internationally by BBC Studios.“This is the story of two very different women and the conman they have in common; a dark, funny, and unpredictable thriller about three remarkable characters trapped in a tangled triangle of complexly layered half-truths and lies of epic proportions,” reads the logline.

Stephen. The three-parter, which is a sequel to Paul Greengrass' 1999 film The Murder of Stephen Lawrence, sees Whyte (Small Axe) bring Stephen's mother Doreen to life, while Quarshie (Holby City) reprises the role of his father, Neville.

EXCLUSIVE: I May Destroy You and The Maze Runner actor Aml Ameen has commenced production on his directorial debut feature, Boxing Day, a UK based Christmas romantic comedy in which he’ll also star. Joining him on the call sheet are How to Get Away with Murder alum Aja Naomi King, Leigh-Anne Pinnock of the British girl group Little Mix (in her first film role), and Golden Globe and BAFTA-winner Marianne Jean-Baptiste (Secrets & Lies).
