It feels like, more and more, the entertainment industry tends to focus on massive A-list stars and huge, tentpole films and TV series. If you’re not one of the Chrises (Pratt, Pine, Evans, Hemsworth) or the latest Marvel Studios project, then it’s not on many people’s radar.
“Station Eleven” is quote-unquote “gone,” or over, but far from forgotten. In fact, the expansive HBO Max original limited series that ended in late January just keeps blossoming in the mind as the viewer keeps soaking up what they experienced.

It’s starting to feel like we’ve seen just about every possible iteration of the post-apocalypse in films and TV series. “The Walking Dead” has shown us the zombie apocalypse.
We are so fucked. We know this because scientists tell us this every day and that the climate crisis is very real, but yet, people like GOP whip Steve Scalise (and that entire party) don’t seem to care about its effects.
Spoiler warning: This interview reveals plot points of “Happiest Season.“ READ MORE: ‘Happiest Season’: Kristen Stewart & Mackenzie Davis Shine Bright In A Coming Out Xmas Romcom [Review] Hulu’s “Happiest Season” is a bonafide hit – breaking premiere records, scoring the most-watched status during its opening weekend, attracting more new subscribers than any previous movie title on the platform, and trended on Twitter.
, is not exactly revolutionary in its representation of queer people — it centers on well-to-do, white lesbians — nor does it set out to reinvent the holiday-centric romantic comedy. (There are hiccups and hijinks, but the couple is kissing again come Christmas.) The term “rom-com” normally comes with some preconceived notions. The film will feature a man and a woman who meet in a super cute (but awkward) way.
When it was announced that Mackenzie Davis would lead the cast for a new “Terminator” sequel, it was surprising for a number of reasons. One reason is that Davis isn’t much of an established big-budget action star, as she’s won acclaim for her smaller roles in films such as “Tully” and TV shows such as “Black Mirror” and “Halt and Catch Fire.” And another reason is that there just didn’t seem like much desire for yet another lackluster “Terminator” sequel.
“Irresistible” ends in laughter, a series of chuckles laced with a twinge of despair. That a satire of our current political landscape might conclude in such resigned hysterics is hardly surprising.
