After his brief reintroduction in last year’s “Spider-Man: No Way Home” — when Dardevil’s alter ego Matt Murdock got the bogus Mysterio murder charges against Peter Parker dropped — generating much fan excitement, actor Charlie Cox finally reappeared in the final episodes of “She-Hulk: Attorney at Law” on Disney+. It’s been a long awaited return for Cox, who first donned the Daredevil suit in Netflix’s inaugural Marvel series back in 2015, but was relegated to staying in the streamer’s brief flirtation with the Marvel-verse. It was a different time back then: Before Disney+, Netflix had “Daredevil,” “Jessica Jones,” “Luke Cage,” “Iron Fist” and the “Defenders” team-up series, but the characters only ever mentioned the big-time MCU players by name and never crossed over with them. Cox’s “Daredevil” was the most popular, running for three seasons before getting canceled in 2018. That is, until Disney brought him back for that short cameo in “Spider-Man: No Way Home” as Peter Parker’s lawyer.

There are some major changes happening to the Daredevil reboot TV series from Marvel, currently titled Daredevil: Born Again.

Marvel Studios‘ Daredevil: Born Again has rounded out its revamped creative team with a new showrunner and directors. Dario Scardapane (Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, The Punisher) has been tapped as showrunner and directing team Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead (Loki) are set to direct the Charlie Cox series, sources confirm to Deadline.

Following the launch of Disney+ in 2019, Disney – who acquired Marvel back in 2009 – ordered a slate of new Marvel series for its streaming platform.

Nathan Louis Jackson, the award-winning playwright who made a splash with the debut of Broke-ology in 2008 and who went on to write and produce TV shows such as Luke Cage, S.W.A.T., 13 Reasons Why and Shameless, died on August 22, according to multiple reports. While no cause of death was given, his wife told the New York Times that Jackson had had recent cardiac problems, including an aortic dissection and an aortic aneurysm. He was 44.

Ron Cephas Jones, an Emmy-award-winning actor for his role as William Hill on This Is Us, has died. He was 66.

According to her official character description, Lashanna is Imagine Inc.’s most dichotomous employee: a phone sex worker who is a very religious Christian with quite conservative views on sexuality. She has photos of her kids and grandkids on her wall and is proud of the fact that most of her money goes to tithes and taking care of her grandkids. She joins previously announced cast members Karim Diané, Kristin Dodson, and Kassandra Lee Diaz as series regulars to star alongside Sidibe, who will executive produce and play the lead role of Gabby. Anna Maria Horsford, Tisha Campbell, and Judy Reyes have been announced as recurring guest stars.

Amazon Studios has signed an exclusive first-look deal with former Marvel Editor-In-Chief Joe Quesada. Under the deal, Quesada will be developing series and films for Prime Video, focusing on adapting existing and new comic book IP.

Jon Bernthal is returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the gun-toting vigilante for the upcoming Disney+ series “Daredevil: Born Again.” After news first broke on March 7 of Bernthal’s return as the character, he posted an image of himself as The Punisher to his Instagram, while also sharing a clip on the official “Real Ones With Jon Bernthal” YouTube channel titled “Frank Castle is back.” Frank Castle, a.k.a. the Punisher, was first introduced in Netflix’s mini universe of street-level Marvel characters. He debuted in Season 2 of “Daredevil” in 2016, then went on to star in his own, self-titled spinoff that ran for two seasons.
