K.J. Yossman Netflix’s director of U.K. features Fiona Lamptey has exited the streamer after nineteenth months, Variety understands. No reason has been given for the move and Netflix declined to comment. Lamptey joined Netflix U.K. Oct. in 2021 from Fruit Tree Media with a brief to expand Netflix’s U.K. talent roster and scout new IP to adapt for feature-length productions. She previously spent 13 years at Channel 4 and its feature division Film4. Among the features developed during her time at the streamer are “I Came By,” starring “Downton Abbey’s” Hugh Bonneville, “The Wonder,” which starred Florence Pugh and “The Strays” starring Ashley Madekwe and Bukky Bakray.

Netflix executive Lisa Nishimura backed some of the streamer’s biggest successes – Tiger King, The Tinder Swindler, The Power of the Dog, and American Factory – but in an era of corporate cost-cutting, it wasn’t enough to save her job.

All live-action film content will now roll up to Kira Goldberg, Ori Marmur and Niija Kuykendall. “Lisa Nishimura joined Netflix in the DVD days, and as the company moved into streaming, she built our original documentary and stand-up comedy divisions from the ground up, and established Netflix as a powerhouse in both spaces,” Stuber told Variety in a statement of the executive, a fixture in the indie community and on the annual festival circuit.

Deadline has confirmed that Dan Silver, Disney+ VP of Nonfiction Originals is going to Netflix as Director of Documentary Feature Films.

He will report to Lisa Nishimura, vice president of independent film and documentary features.Silver has a long history at the Mouse House, having held roles at Disney Plus, Marvel Entertainment, ABC News Digital, and ESPN Films.

Film executive Alexander Almogabar Zahn has joined Netflix as a manager on the indie film team, which is run by Lisa Nishimura. Zahn most recently served as vp of acquisitions and productions at Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions.

Julie Fontaine, vp film publicity at Netflix, is exiting the company,The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed. Joining the streaming giant in 2017, Fontaine worked closely with head of Netflix Films Scott Stuber as well as documentary and independent film head Lisa Nishimura as the company ramped up its original movie offerings with mainstream blockbusters and awards-worthy titles.
