Stereophonics have been forced to cancel their imminent pair of stadium shows in Cardiff in light of the evolving public health situation.The band were set to play the Principality Stadium on December 17 and 18, but due to concerns around the new Omicron variant of COVID, the shows have been pushed back to June 2022.In a joint statement, the Principality Stadium and promoters Kilimanjaro Live wrote: “The Principality Stadium and promoters Kilimanjaro Live are regretfully announcing the

coronavirus pandemic this year, with only a very small number of socially distanced or reduced capacity gigs taking place in the UK since the lockdown was ordered in March.Galbraith, who is also the vice-chair of the Concert Promoters Association, is hopeful that gigs in the UK will be able to return to full capacity by spring next year, earmarking April 8 as a target restart date.“We’ve got some big asks still of government and we really need to focus upon those,” Galbraith told Music Week.
