The new cast members are: Keith David (“The Princess and the Frog,” “Greenleaf”), Siena East (“The Sex Lives of College Girls”), Jeanne Tripplehorn (“The Terminal List,” “Mrs. America”), Tim Blake Nelson (“Watchmen,” “The Ballad of Buster Scruggs”), Scott Shepherd (“The Last of Us,” “Killers of the Flower Moon”), Tracy Letts (“Winning Time: Rise of the Lakers Dynasty,” “Lady Bird”), Kyle Maclachlan (“Twin Peaks,” upcoming “Fallout”), and Macon Blair (“Reservation Dogs,” “I Care A Lot”).

The stars of American Fiction are hitting the red carpet!

Ken Burns‘ two-part, four-hour documentary Leonardo da Vinci is set to air on November 18-19 from 8-10 p.m. ET on PBS. The project, co-directed with Sarah Burns and Dave McMahon, is Burns’ first non-American subject.

American Fiction, a new film based upon the book ‘Erasure’ by Percival Everett. Jeffrey Wright, Tracee Ellis Ross, John Ortiz, Erika Alexander, Leslie Uggams, Adam Brody, Keith David, Issa Rae and Sterling K.

The nominations for the 96th Oscars revealed Tuesday included a diverse mix of Best Picture contenders, from box office blockbusters and festival favorites to sweeping streamer epics and indie darlings.

Prime Video has set January 19, 2024 for the premiere of Vivienne Medrano’s adult animated musical comedy series Hazbin Hotel. Episodes will drop exclusively on the streamer beginning January 19 in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide. Prime Video also announced its guest cast, which includes Broadway vets Darren Criss (Saint Peter), Jeremy Jordan (Lucifer Morningstar), Daphne Rubin-Vega (Carmilla Carmine), Patina Miller (Sera), and Jessica Vosk (Lute).  They also will be announced in true Broadway style via the marquee at the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood today from 8am – 6pm PT. They join the previously announced main cast including Erika Henningsen, Stephanie Beatriz, Alex Brightman, Keith David, Kimiko Glenn, Blake Roman, Amir Talai, Christian Borle, and Joel Perez. 

A live-action reboot of the mid-90s animated television series Gargoyles is in early development at Disney+, Deadline has confirmed. The project hails from Annabelle writer Gary Dauberman and James Wan‘s Atomic Monster.

Variety has confirmed that the Disney streaming service is working with writer Gary Dauberman and James Wan‘s Atomic Monster to develop a live-action version of the beloved animated show. Dauberman would serve as writer and executive producer with Wan also executive producing.

Michaela Zee Stephanie Beatriz, Keith David and Kimiko Glenn are set to star in the new adult animated series “Hazbin Hotel.” The first season will premiere exclusively on Prime Video in January 2024. Prime Video unveiled the full voice cast at New York Comic Con on Saturday, along with a teaser of an original song called “Happy Day in Hell.” Season 1 series regulars include Beatriz as Vaggie, David as Husk, Glenn as Niffty, Erika Henningsen as Charlie, Alex Brightman as Sir Pentious, Blake Roman as Angel Dust, Amir Talai as Alastor, with Christian Borle and Joel Perez rounding out the voice ensemble as demons of Hell, Vox and Valentino, respectively.

Max has released a teaser for its upcoming original animated series Kite Man: Hell Yeah!, a spinoff of Harley Quinn, which wrapped its fourth season Thursday. It’s set to premiere in 2024.

The crime drama Heist 88 starring two-time Emmy winner Courtney B. Vance (The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story) has set its linear and streaming premiere dates. Inspired by one of the largest bank robberies in U.S. history, the film is set to debut exclusively on Paramount+ with Showtime on September 29. It will make its way to Showtime for its linear debut at 9 p.m. ET/PT on October 1st.

Greenleaf alum Keith David has been tapped to take over the role of Commander Zavala in Destiny 2‘s upcoming expansion release The Final Shape. He replaces the late Lance Reddick, who passed away earlier this year.

Showtime also has opted not to renew Ziwe, hosted and executive produced by comedian Ziwe Fumudoh, for a third season.

In addition, Jones has landed a recurring guest star role in the upcoming HBO Max crime drama series “Duster” from J.J. Abrams and LaToya Morgan. Jones will continue to be represented by Artists First and Ginsburg Daniels Kallis. Jones is best known for his roles in films like “8 Mile,” in which he played Cheddar Bob, and “Jarhead,” in which he played Fowler. Jones’ other notable film roles include “Den of Thieves,” “The Book of Eli,” “Guardians of the Galaxy 2,” “A Million Ways to Die in the West,” “Shot Caller,” and “Hotel Artemis.” In television, Jones has appeared in shows like “October Road,” “Houdini,” “Brothers & Sisters,” “Midnight, Texas,” and “CSI: Cyber.”

Rachel Hilson will star alongside Josh Holloway in J.J. Abrams and LaToya Morgan’s period drama Duster as HBO Max has finally handed the project an official series order.

Joe Otterson TV Reporter HBO Max has ordered the drama series “Duster” from J.J. Abrams and LaToya Morgan with Josh Holloway and Rachel Hilson set to star. The eight-episode series is set in 1972. Per the official logline, “the first Black female FBI agent (Hilson) heads to the Southwest and recruits a gutsy getaway driver (Holloway) in a bold effort to take down a growing crime syndicate.” “‘Duster’ is an amalgam of all my favorite things – high octane storytelling with deep characters and so much heart,” Morgan said. “It’s a dream project and I’m supremely grateful to all the folks at Warner Bros. and HBO Max for believing in this show. And I couldn’t have asked for a better partner in crime than J.J. to build this incredible world.”
