Roku has released the first trailer for The Spiderwick Chronicles, ahead of the fantasy series’ April launch.

Jaden Thompson Roku Channel has released a teaser trailer for the upcoming series “The Spiderwick Chronicles,” after it acquired the show after Disney+ chose not to move forward with it. All eight episodes will be available to stream on April 19. Adapted from the book series by Tony DiTerlizzi and Holly Black, “The Spiderwick Chronicles” follows a group of siblings as they embark on a fantastical adventure.

Michaela Zee “The Spiderwick Chronicles” series adaptation is no longer moving forward at Disney+, Variety has confirmed. The completed six-episode series, which hails from Paramount Television Studios and 20th Television, is currently being shopped to other potential buyers. Based on the best-selling children’s books of the same name by Tony DiTerlizzi and Holly Black, “The Spiderwick Chronicles” live-action series follows the Grace family as they move into their ancestral home, The Spiderwick Estate, and discover an alternate world of fairies.

BreAnna Bell CBS has ordered three shows, “Matlock,” “Elsbeth,” and “Poppa’s House” to series for the 2023-2024 broadcast season. The network made the announcement on Tuesday afternoon. Kathy Bates will star and executive produce the “Matlock” reboot which follows a now successful Madeline Matlock (Bates) as she rejoins the work force at a prestigious law firm where she uses her unassuming demeanor and wily tactics to win cases and expose corruption from within. The series also stars Skye P. Marshall as Olympia, Jason Ritter as Julian, David Del Rio as Billy, Leah Lewis as Sarah.

Jason Ritter is set as a lead opposite Kathy Bates in CBS’ drama pilot Matlock, a new take on the classic legal TV drama that starred Andy Griffith. The new show comes from Jane the Virgin creator Jennie Snyder Urman and NCIS: Los Angeles star Eric Christian Olsen. Ritter rounds out the series regular cast for the pilot. In addition to Bates and Marshall, he joins previously announced Skye P. Marshall, David Del Rio and Leah Lewis.

Slater will star as Mulgarath, whose alter ego is Dr. Dorian Brauer. The character is described as a capital-V Villain who does what all ogres do — he eats people, an insatiable desire to consume. Mulgarath wants the secrets contained in Arthur Spiderwick’s Field Guide to the Natural World for a nefarious scheme that will satisfy his hunger.
