Alison - who was said to be the early favourite to become the main This Morning presenter after Holly Willoughby decided to quit the ITV show - asked Dr Karan: “Is chocolate an aphrodisiac?” The doctor, conscious he was on a daytime show, diplomatically answered: “So scientifically there is no evidence linking chocolate to your ability to perform horizontal bedroom wrestling to the best of your abilities.” Alison, looking deadly serious, replied: “That’s really interesting because every time I eat chocolate, I want it.” The confession left a gobsmacked Dermot stifling a snicker before Dr Karan offered: “Well, caffeine is a stimulant?” Po-faced Alison nodded before moving on and saying: ‘Well that was a great item, wasn’t it? Dermot responded: “I’ve learnt as much about you as I have about medical science.” Elsewhere on Friday’s This Morning, Alison was left crying with laughter after Dermot exposed her false claims about making a selfless donation to charity.
