The second season of Freeform comedy Everything’s Gonna Be Okay will be its last, the network has confirmed.

The delayed Season 2 of Everything’s Gonna Be Okay finally bowed in April, marking the return of the Freeform comedy created and executive produced by and starring Australian comedian Josh Thomas.

And though the 64-year-old has since starred in high-profile shows like long-running soap Neighbours and Josh Thomas’ irreverent hit Please Like Me, Debra will always hold a special place in Home and Away fans’ hearts as Pippa.

It follows neurotic gay thirtysomething entomologist Nicholas (Thomas) who unexpectedly finds himself assuming guardianship over his teen half-sisters: the musically gifted Matilda (Cromer) who is autistic, and her spunky younger sister Genevieve (Maeve Press), an aspiring stand-up comedian. “Working with Josh’s huge personality and being around him has definitely helped me understand sarcasm better,” said Cromer.

Richard Kind (The Big Knife, Inside Out) and Maria Bamford (Lady Dynamite, Big Mouth) have been tapped for recurring roles on the upcoming second season of Freeform’s comedy series Everything’s Gonna Be Okay. In addition to the castings, Freeform also announced today at the TCA press tour that Season 2 will premiere Thursday, April 8 at 10 pm with two back-to-back episodes.

What do "Seven-Spotted Ladybug," "Greenbottle Blue Tarantula," "Giant Asian Mantises," "Maggots," "Silkmoths" and "Blue Death-Feigning Beetles" have in common? Well, they're all types of insects and they're all episode titles for Freeform's new series Everything's Gonna Be Okay.

One of the hallmarks of Josh Thomas’ particularly spiky and sympathetic sense of humor is how he takes a situation we’ve seen unfold on TV before and makes the bold choice to let his characters react like actual human beings. On his semi-autobiographical comedy “Please Like Me,” people struggled through depression and their gnarled feelings with such candor that it felt both jarring and revelatory.

Josh Thomas had his big breakthrough with American TV audiences by essentially playing a version of himself on Please Like Me. Now, three years after that series finale, and after some self-imposed time away from TV, he's back with Everything's Gonna Be Okay. The new Freeform comedy will, like Please Like Me, pull at certain heartstrings—and make you laugh.

Australian comedian Josh Thomas was just 17 when he won the competition at the Melbourne Intl. Comedy Festival — and just 25 when, in 2013, he created and starred in “Please Like Me,” nominated for five Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts awards during its four-season run.
