However, the News understands the number is higher, with one source telling us of a primary pupil at a school in the town testing positive.That has raised concerns about the speed at which COVID-19 is spreading through schools across the area.

Coronavirus - Cambuslang primary school staff member tests positive
Rutherglen and Cambuslang area in the past two weeks, following a pupil at the Ace Place Nursery in Rutherglen and a staff member at Stonelaw High. NHS Lanarkshire's Test and Protect team are currently working to contact anyone who has been in contact with the affected indivdual.

NHS Lanarkshire confirm Covid-19 case at Uddingston Grammar
Dr Josephine Pravinkumar, NHS Lanarkshire consultant in public health medicine, said: “NHS Lanarkshire’s Test and Protect service is working closely with North and South Lanarkshire Councils and the schools to identify all close contacts of the cases who are being given public health advice and being told to self-isolate.
