Eagles rumoured for Las Vegas residency

Eagles are the latest band speculated as having an upcoming residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas. The reports were initially shared by the New York Post, which reported claims made by various sources, stating that the rock veterans will enjoy a 10-week residency in Las Vegas later this year.It claims that the official announcement is set to be made soon, and the booking will see Don Henley and Co. perform in the impressive new venue from September through to December. The total number of shows and reported terms of the deal have not been disclosed as of yet.If the rumours about an Eagles residency at the Las Vegas Sphere do turn out to be true, the dates would come as an extension to their ongoing farewell shows, held as part of the ‘Long Goodbye’ tour. The final run of tour dates kicked off in September last year, and is expected to run up until 2025.

Ringo Starr Talks New Beatles Track and Turning 83 at Peace-Loving Birthday Celebration

Chris Willman Senior Music Writer and Chief Music Critic Ringo Starr, as always, is all about the P&L statements, and that doesn’t mean profit-and-loss. Friday, as is his custom, he took the occasion of his birthday — this year, his 83rd — to lead local friends in a chant of “peace and love” at the stroke of noon PT in a Beverly Hills park, while a worldwide audience of streaming Beatles fans looked on, admiring his youthful looks and demeanor and wondering if there’s any way to have what he’s having. Brother-in-law Joe Walsh joined him for the event, as did their respective wives, sisters Barbara and Marjorie Bach. By coincidence, both Starr and Walsh have been a part of headline news stories in recent days — the former because of a forthcoming Beatles single, the latter because of the announcement of an Eagles farewell tour. The two stars talked with press about those headlines, among other things, before the late-morning party got underway in earnest.

Neil Young and Stephen Stills Bring Buffalo Springfield Classics Back to Life in Greek Theatre Autism Benefit

Chris Willman Senior Music Writer and Chief Music Critic Comes a time when even Neil Young is going to set foot on a stage again after the pandemic, and the recently gig-shy legend turned in his first substantial live performance in almost four years Saturday night at a benefit concert at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles. Young shared much of his time on stage with Stephen Stills, in a show that relied so much on material from their first run as fellow band members in the 1960s, it almost amounted to a true “Buffalo Springfield revisited” show. The two longtime cohorts’ appearances apart and in tandem would have been draw enough to fill the Greek Saturday for the “Autism Speaks Light Up the Blues 6 Concert,” a sixth edition of the recurring autism benefits hosted by Stills and his wife Kristen, this one postponed by three years from its original spring 2020 date. But there was plenty of star power besides, including sets by Willie Nelson, making a brief but impactful appearance in advance of his 90th birthday celebration next weekend at the Hollywood Bowl, and Joe Walsh, who ensured that Stills and Young did not have the guitar heroism to themselves.
