Djo, the music moniker of Stranger Things star Joe Keery, has told NME about how his love of Charli XCX and the Chicago DIY scene has been instrumental in his own sound. The musician and actor, who played Steve Harington in the hit Netflix show, has released two albums under the Djo alias, most recently 2022’s ‘Decide’.That album is where the song ‘End Of Beginning’ was first released, although it is in recent months that the track has become a major trend on TikTok, with users taking advantage of its woozy, nostalgic quality to illustrate their memories of their hometowns, especially, as referred to in the song’s lyrics, Chicago.Following the viral success of the song, it has become a major chart hit on both sides of the Atlantic. And now, Djo has told NME about his love of British pop iconoclast Charli XCX, and the impact that her writing style has had on his own.“I feel like what she’s really good at is writing a song that is really about a specific thing,” Djo said. “A great example is this song from her most recent album [‘2022’s ‘Crash’] called ‘Yuck’.
Ellise Shafer If you’ve been on TikTok in the last few weeks, chances are you’ve heard Djo’s “End of Beginning,” a synth-heavy psychedelic track soaked in nostalgia. Joe Keery addressed the rumor that he was going to be the next Stranger Things star who worked with Taylor Swift.
Zack Sharf Digital News Director “Stranger Things” creators Matt and Ross Duffer are shutting down at least one fan theory about the upcoming ending to their blockbuster Netflix series. On the red carpet for the new “Stranger Things” play in London, the duo went on record to Metro saying the series will not end with a reveal that all the events in the Upside Down were just a dream. One fan theory about the “Stranger Things” ending alleges all the events on screen during the show’s run were actually just the main characters playing an elaborate and very long game of Dungeons and Dragons, a favorite among the characters since the show’s first season.

Fargo franchise is what gardeners would call a volunteer tree: sprung from a robust film, it has most certainly taken on a life of its own.Five seasons in, it has become the inimitable vision of writer Noah Hawley and his murderously affectionate take on the American Midwest. A witty, mischievous raconteur, Hawley delivers his (usually) cop-based yarns through ordinary lives that end up being anything but.
Jon Hamm needed “a dedicated nippleologist” to get his character’s prosthetic pierced nipples just right for Season Five of Fargo. The dark comedy crime anthology returns for its fifth season today (November 21) on FX in the US, and a day later in the UK on Amazon Prime Video. As seen in the trailer for the season, Hamm’s character Sheriff Roy Tillman has nipple rings, and when speaking to Variety this week, Hamm explained how they got it to work.“I had to have some very blue latex put on my nipples, and then they cast a resoundingly lifelike pair of nipples, which they then pierced and placed over my own nipples, and we shot said nipples,” he said. “The crew doesn’t get enough credit, but there was a dedicated nippleologist.”Early reviews of Season Five of the show have described it as a “return to form”.

Fargo’s fifth season has been described as a “return to form” in early reviews.Created by Noah Hawley, the dark comedy crime anthology returns for its fifth season on November 21 on FX in the US.The show, originally inspired by the Coen brothers’ 1996 film of the same name, has explored new time periods and locations with largely a new cast in every season so far. In the fifth season, the series takes a more contemporary 2019 setting across North Dakota and Minnesota.A synopsis reads: “After an unexpected series of events lands “Dorothy ‘Dot’ Lyon” (Juno Temple) in hot water with the authorities, this seemingly typical Midwestern housewife is suddenly plunged back into a life she thought she had left behind.”Alongside Juno Temple, the fifth season’s ensemble cast includes Jon Hamm, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Joe Keery, Lamorne Morris and Richa Moorjani.Ahead of the show’s premiere, critics have shared their views on the first six episodes.
After an ambitious fourth season in 2020 that arguably drifted into something different from what Noah Hawley had produced before in his Coen Brothers-inspired “Fargo,” the fifth chapter of this twisted anthology series returns to the roots of the film that gives it a title. It’s as if Hawley and his team put some of the basic elements of the 1996 Oscar winner on a whiteboard—kidnapped housewife, pair of bumbling criminals (one foreign), car salesman husband, kindly Minnesotan police officer, etc.—and then figured out how to warp them through their funhouse mirror approach to Coen-esque black comedy.
EXCLUSIVE: Emmy nominee Camila Morrone has signed with Brillstein Entertainment Partners for representation.

Nick Vivarelli International Correspondent Venice Film Festival artistic director Alberto Barbera is adamant about his decision to place six Italian movies in this year’s 23-title festival lineup. “Nobody accused the French of chauvinism because they had seven French films in competition in Cannes this year,” Barbera quipped to a snarky Italian reporter when the Venice lineup was announced in July, though he did concede, “It’s true that in the past I have not done this.” Indeed, Barbera’s previous limit on Italian movies in competition for the Golden Lion was five titles last year, which some local critics considered a stretch.
