Two Republican state lawmakers in Michigan on Thursday requested an election audit, alleging anomalies and citing affidavits filed in lawsuits challenging the vote-counting process in Detroit and other areas of the state, according to reports.  State Sens.

The Trump campaign has filed a lawsuit against Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson and Wayne County officials in which they allege that credentialed election challengers were blocked from having sufficient view of the vote-counting process, challenges against certain ballots were ignored, and as a result, ineligible ballots were tallied.

Michigan’s Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson warned the state’s voters who’ve held on to their ballots that they should not mail them in, but instead drop them off in person.  Benson said those who don’t hand-deliver their ballot to a dropbox or to their local clerk’s office risk it not being counted by sending it through the mail.  With two weeks to go before Election Day, 1.5 million voters in the key battleground state still have not returned their ballots.

Michigan announced a ban on Friday of the open carry of guns at polling places to avoid voter harassment and intimidation during the critical swing state election.   The announcement by Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson drew a quick rebuke from some Republicans and gun rights activists, including the National Rifle Association, but the Democratic official said firearms at voting sites could cause fear and disruption for election workers and Michiganders trying to cast their ballots on Nov.
