Jean-Marc Vallée and Nathan Ross, the Emmy-winning producers behind HBO’s Big Little Lies and Sharp Objects, have entered into a three-year first-look deal with HBO and HBO Max via their Crazyrose production company. Under the deal, Vallée and Ross will executive produce both Gorilla and the Bird, a limited series based on the memoir by Zack McDermott which Vallée will also direct, and The Players Table, starring Sydney Sweeney and Halsey to be directed by Annabelle Attanasio.

Natalie Portman and Lupita Nyong’o are to star in a limited series adaptation of Laura Lippman’s book Lady In The Lake for Apple TV+.

EXCLUSIVE: HBO Max has put in development The Players Table, a TV series based on Jessica Goodman’s bestselling debut novel They Wish They Were Us, starring Euphoria‘s Sydney Sweeney and singer-songwriter Halsey in her television acting debut. The project, which was recently taken out by Endeavor Content, hails from Sweeney’s Fifty-Fifty Films, Jean-Marc Vallée and Nathan Ross’ Crazyrose.

Euphoria star Sydney Sweeney has discussed Halsey’s upcoming acting debut in The Player’s Table.The TV show is currently in development from Sweeney’s own production company Fifty-Fifty Films, Endeavor Content and Jean-Marc Vallée and Nathan Ross’ Crazyrose.
