Percy Jackson and the Olympians has eclipsed the Goosebumps debut to become the top Disney Branded Television premiere of all time with the first episode amassing 13.3M views globally across both Disney+ and Hulu in its first six days streaming, the company said Tuesday.

Disney+ is getting strong response to the trailer for its upcoming series Percy Jackson and The Olympians. Within 10 days of the trailer’s Nov. 16 release, it has garnered 126.5M impressions, 84.3M video views, and 1.8M engagements across Percy Jackson Series, Disney+, and talent accounts (11/16-11/26).

He wasn’t on the speakers’ list, but Percy Jackson & The Olympians creator Rick Riordan staged a surprise last-minute walk-on Sunday at New York Comic Con with his wife Becky Riordan.

Disney+ has released the official trailer for its “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” series, starring Walker Scobell as the titular 12-year-old boy, Leah Jeffries as Annabeth Chase and Aryan Simhadri as Grover Underwood. The official logline reads, “‘Percy Jackson and the Olympians’ tells the fantastical story of a 12-year-old modern demigod, Percy Jackson (Scobell), who’s just coming to terms with his newfound divine powers when the sky god Zeus accuses him of stealing his master lightning bolt.

To mark Percy Jackson’s birthday, Disney+ has released a new teaser for the upcoming original series Percy Jackson and the Olympians, along with the announcement that the series, based on best-selling book series by Rick Riordan, will debut with a two-episode premiere on Dec. 20, 2023 on Disney+, followed by new episodes weekly.
