Take That have announced details of a new festival called ‘The Greatest Weekend’, starring performances from Sugababes, Sam Ryder and more. Find ticket details below.Developed by the iconic ‘90s boy band, the new festival will be held on the Mediterranean island of Malta, and span across four days later this year.Running between Thursday, October 17 and Sunday, October 20, the live event is the first of its kind, and will see Gary Barlow, Mark Owen, and Howard Donald host what promises to be a “celebration of music, entertainment, and unforgettable moments, curated by the band themselves”.The exclusive event tells fans that it offers a “once-in-a-lifetime opportunity” to see the band perform in an intimate live setting, and bring out an array of special hand-picked guests to perform.So far, the first wave of artists have been announced, with Sugababes, Ella Henderson and Gok Wan lined up for the Saturday instalment, and Sam Ryder, Daniel Bedingfield and Heather Small being confirmed for the Sunday event.

M People‘s ‘Moving On Up’ at the Conservative Party conference in Birmingham today (October 5).The PM delivered a 35-minute speech at the International Convention Centre (ICC) this morning. As the BBC notes, it was the shortest in-person conference speech by a Tory Prime Minister this century.In it, Truss outlined her economic vision for the UK and said that she stood for “growth, growth, growth”. She also reiterated that the recent U-turn on plans to scrap the 45p tax rate for the highest earners was because it had become a “distraction”.Addressing those who are worried about the economy, the PM said she is “working flat out” to make sure they get through the current crisis.

M People’s Heather Small has spoken about the “positive, hard work” immigrants bring to the UK, in a new interview with NME.Taking part in Does Rock ‘N’ Roll Kill Braincells?!, Small spoke about the time Boris Johnson referenced the lyrics to M People’s 1994 hit ‘Search for the Hero’ while talking about his experience of COVID-19 and subsequent weight loss mission.Rather than invoice the Prime Minister, Small (whose parents are originally from the Caribbean) saw it as a chance to prove what people from immigrant backgrounds bring to the country.“At this moment in time, I am of immigrant stock, I’m working class, I’m black, female and if a Conservative prime minister’s going to quote my words, I’ll take it! Festival saw eighties stars including Midge Ure, Clare Grogan, and Lulu entertaining revellers as one of the first Scots music festivals since the Covid 19 outbreak.
