The network announced the final season in August 2022, with Brad Schwartz, President of Entertainment at The CW Network saying in a statement, " will be remembered as one of the greatest shows in the history of The CW, and everyone involved in its excellent nine-season run should be very proud.

The CW announced today that Stephen Amell who starred as the character in both Arrow and Arrow spinoff The Flash will return to guest star in episode 909, joining previously announced David Ramsey (John Diggle aka Spartan), Keiynan Lonsdale (Wally West/Kid Flash) and Sendhil Ramamurthy (Ramsey Rosso/Bloodwork).
