GMB’s Richard Arnold 'gobsmacked' by Emilia Jones’ transformation ahead of CODA Oscar win
BAFTAs earlier this month, shared his thoughts on Emilia Jones after she performed at the ceremony, where she was waiting to see if she would win the Best Actress award for her film CODA.Speaking from the Ideal Home Show, in partnership with NatWest, Richard revealed that he had known Emilia since she was “just a nipper” thanks to his friendship with her dad Aled Jones. Richard, 52, admitted that he was “gobsmacked” to see Emilia’s incredible transformation into a star in an exclusive interview with Express.co.uk. The Entertainment Editor for Good Morning Britain reflected on the young actress’ rise to fame and praised her stunning performance of Joni Mitchell’s Both Sides Now, which she also sings in the now Oscar-winning film CODA.Emilia, 20, was also nominated for a Best Actress BAFTA for portraying 17-year-old Ruby, the only hearing member of a deaf family.Reflecting on her rise to fame, Richard admitted that her confident performance left him “slack-jawed”. Remembering that night at the BAFTAs, he said: “I was lucky enough to catch up with Benedict Cumberbatch, Sir Kenneth Branagh and Emilia Jones, of course!”“Aled Jones’ daughter, who I hadn’t seen for years since she was knee-high. “Aled and Lorraine and I worked together on Daybreak before Good Morning Britain started, so I knew Amelia when she was a nipper. “And now of course she's this fabulous actress soaring to giddy heights.”When asked about how it was to see Emilia, who he had known as a little girl, take to the stage in the Royal Albert Hall, Richard admitted he was “gobsmacked”. He said: “It’s just extraordinary.

Rebel Wilson says Leonardo DiCaprio 'likes them young' as she mocks his dating habits
Rebel Wilson made a rather awkward joke regarding Leonardo DiCaprio dating younger women while hosting the BAFTA Film Awards on Sunday evening (March 13).As she walked through the audience, the 42-year-old approached 20-year-old CODA actress Emilia Jones.Rebel then said: "I’ll give you the award for the person in the crowd Leonardo DiCaprio would find most attractive..."He does like them young," she added.Although the joke was fairly savage, this isn't the first time the Titanic star has been roasted for dating younger women. In 2020, Ricky Gervais made a dig at Leonardo while hosting the Golden Globes. The comedian said: "[It’s] almost three hours long – it’s an epic" he said, adding: "Leonardo DiCaprio attended the premiere and by the end his date was too old for him."As the audience erupted into laughter, Ricky added: "Even Prince Andrew’s like, 'Come on, mate, you’re nearly 50, son.'"The news comes as Rebel left viewers divided with her jokes while hosting the glitzy award ceremony. As well as taking a swipe at Leonardo she also cracked jokes about members of the Royal Family. In one segment of the show, the How To Be Single star made a quip about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's controversial interview with Oprah Winfrey.

BAFTAs 2022: host Rebel Wilson gives middle finger to Vladimir Putin
BAFTAs are being held in London tonight (March 13), and host Rebel Wilson began the night by giving the middle finger to Russian President Vladimir Putin.Putin invaded Ukraine on February 24 and the entertainment community has been sharing their support for the country and its people. To open tonight’s BAFTAs, the organisation’s chairman Krishnendu Majumdar read out a speech which said (via the Hollywood Reporter): “Together with our colleagues at the Ukrainian Film Academy, we stand in solidarity and hope for a return to peace.“We’re hugely grateful to the journalists covering Ukraine, many of whom are BAFTA members. Our thoughts are with the people of Ukraine as well as those affected by other conflicts around the world.”After Wilson discussed how Emilia Jones’ musical performance on the show would be aided by a pair of sign language interpreters, she then said: “And in all sign languages, this is the gesture for Putin,” before raising her middle finger, which was blurred out by the BBC.Leading the nominees for the 2022 BAFTAs is Denis Villeneuve’s Dune with a huge 11 nominations, while Licorice Pizza and No Time To Die are also up for multiple gongs.Dame Shirley Bassey opened the BAFTA Film Awards 2022 ceremony with a performance of iconic James Bond song ‘Diamonds Are Forever’.Before the ceremony, Rebel Wilson made a playful jibe at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The Australian actor, known for roles in Bridesmaids and Pitch Perfect, appeared on ITV’s This Morning in an interview with Alison Hammond.During the interview, Hammond asked Wilson how she was feeling ahead of the BAFTAs.
