The Streets and Maisie Peters lead new names for Boardmasters 2024

The Streets, Maisie Peters and Ghetts are among artists that have been announced in the next wave of acts for Boardmasters 2024.Professor Green, Cat Burns, Future Utopia and Sammy Virji are also set to perform at the Cornwall surf and music festival from 7-11 August, joining the previously announced Stormzy, Sam Fender, Chase & Status, Becky Hill and more.The latest wave of acts completes the 2024 line-up, where hundreds of acts will perform across 11 stages at two sites on the Cornish Coast – Watergate Bay and Fistral Beach.The DJ line-up for this year is completed by Ewan McVicar, Eliza Rose, Hedex and Eskman, Andy C, Hannah Laing and more.Other artists set to perform at the 2024 edition include Bicep, Nia Archives, Tom Odell, Soft Play, English Teacher and Katy B.Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased here. The Streets, CamelPhat and Rudimental have been announced as the headliners of Love Saves The Day 2024.The iconic Bristol festival returns to Ashton Court this year from May 25-26 for a weekend of incredible dance music. Festivalgoers will be greeted with eight stages chock full of dance music’s biggest names – here’s the first wave of names announced to play.On Saturday, CamelPhat and Rudimental are set to play the main stage; they’ll be joined by the likes of Flowdan, Girls Don’t Sync, Groove Armada, Interplanetary Criminal, Katy B, Kenya Grace, and Shy FX.Meanwhile, Sunday will feature a special audiovisual show from Sub Focus, whilst The Streets will also round off the day with a performance.

Boardmasters 2024 have been announced, with Stormzy, Chase & Status and Becky Hill leading the line-up.Next year’s edition of the festival will be held between August 7-11, and take place on the usual sites on the Cornish Coast – Watergate Bay and Fistral Beach.Now, the first wave of artists set to appear at the 2024 installation have been announced, including the first two headliners of the event: Stormzy and Chase & Status.Although the exact dates that each will headline have not yet been announced, it has been confirmed that Chase & Status will be hitting the main stage at the Watergate Bay site, and delivering fan favourites as well as newer hits from the recently shared album ‘2 RUFF, Vol.1’.As for Stormzy, the exact site has not been confirmed yet, but the South London icon is expected to play hits from across his three chart-topping albums: ‘Gang Signs & Prayer’, ‘Heavy Is The Head’ and ‘This Is What I Mean’.Over 30 other acts have also been locked in for the 2024 edition, including Becky Hill, Bicep, Nia Archives, Tom Odell, Soft Play, English Teacher and Katy B.For Becky Hill, the 2024 edition of Boardmasters will mark the singer’s return to the festival, while for Bicep, the event will see the Belfast electronic music duo present their audio/visual DJ set called Chroma.DJ sets from Andy C, Eliza Rose, Hannah Liang and more are also lined-up, and “hundreds” more acts are set to be announced at a later date. Music Industry Moves: Warner Records Launches Dance Label Major Recordings, Led by Sam Mobarek

Thania Garcia Warner Records today announced the launch of its first-ever flagship electronic dance music label, Major Recordings. Headed by Sam Mobarek, the label’s first signing is duo the duo Parisi, in partnership with Parlophone’s FFRR imprint. Mobarek will report to Warner Records’ co-chairman/ COO Tom Corson and co-chairman/ CEO Aaron Bay-Schuck. Mobarek has nearly two decades of experience in branding and marketing, most recently running Mob Creative, which she also founded. Prior to Mob, Mobarek led the marketing department at Ultra Music, working with Calvin Harris, Steve Aoki, Pitbull, and deadmau5; she also ran the pop imprint Lefthook under Sony Music while still a student at New York University’s Stern School of Business, and held posts at live music company SFX (now Lifestyle) as well as Beatport. In recent months, she and her team have been working with Warner’s partners on such acts as the Blessed Madonna, Eliza Rose, Luude, Skin on Skin and more.

Dance music accounts for quarter of UK top ten tracks this year

Dance music has been having a good year in the UK music charts according to new number crunching from record industry trade group BPI. It says that dance tracks are now only second to pop music when it comes to dominating the top ten.According to the BPI’s analysis of Official Charts Company data, 26.1% of all the tracks to enter the UK singles top ten this year have been from the dance genre, which is an 80% increase on 2021, and nearly three times as much as in 2019.

BBC Radio 1 has announced the line-up for its Residency slot for the next three months, which sees two DJs given an hour each every Thursday for a month to play the best tracks they can find.Kicking things off tomorrow night – and then appearing for the whole month of September – will be Uncle Waffles and Ahadadream. In October they’ll hand over to Helena Hauff and Eliza Rose, and then November will be handled by Joseph Capriati and Skream.But how do they all feel about this opportunity? Field Day has announced the latest wave of acts for its 2022 festival.The east London event, which will take place in Victoria Park as part of All Points East, will be held this year on August 20.The Chemical Brothers and Kraftwerk 3D will headline Field Day 2022, with the festival confirming a host of new acts on its bill today (January 27).Peggy Gou, Squarepusher and Folamour will all perform live at Field Day, while the likes of Artwork, CC:Disco!, Carl Craig, Moodymann, Denis Sulta and Mella Dee will provide B2B DJ sets.
